Do you really need fuel wires attached for Map 2?

Hello everyone,
I am waiting for my JB4 to come in. I also ordered the Denso spark plugs which I will gap to .022' According to the charts on the JB4 website, stock hp/torque is 328/392. With the JB4 Map 2 without fuel control there is a big jump to 382/473, but WITH fuel control at Map 2 the numbers are 391/469 which is only an improvement of 9hp but a LOSS of 4tq.

If I'm reading the charts right it seems the fuel wires are only necessary for higher/custom maps? Am I missing something?
 
Fuel control (OBDII) connect does a lot more that isn’t directly correlated to the hp/tq gain. Any Map above 1 should have the wires connected.
 
It's not required but they improve the overall tuning and performance on all maps. If you're not that in to performance and feel more comfortable skipping them then skip them. If you end up losing a race to a Stinger with them connected you can always race back home to attach. :)

You’re misinterpreting things.
The fuel control wires do much more than simply increase hp and tq.
Yes, you will lose a race to a Stinger that has them connected because you’ll be running rich as boost increases and you’ll be misfiring.

What a ridiculous response. I don't know more than you do, I'm simply trying to get an explanation. I just invested in your product and this is your response???? You totally ignored the observation I made based on your graphs.

That's enough. I understand you're new around here, but you're acting like a straight-up a**hole.

It's not like @Terry@BMS needs any additional kudos from me, he gets enough of that from everyone else, but your comments are incendiary.

Where else can you go where you can ask a question, not of a vendor, but a manufacturer, in a public forum, and get responses directly from the creator? The JB4 is used on many different platforms, and the Stinger may have the lowest volume of them all, yet Terry is personally invested in the growth and development of the platform.

When you reach out to other manufacturers, they put you in a queue with an automated response, and you'll be lucky to get any answer in a reasonable timeframe.

Hmm strange I'm sure we've been through it before. Well here is the 20 second version:

The JB4 monitors the lambda signal in each bank via CANbus and using an internal PID system to target a specific air/fuel ratio adjusts the o2 sensor signal dynamically so actual AFR in each bank is at the desired target.
You expect that just because you're new to the platform that BMS should restate everything they previously stated to answer your question as opposed to you searching for the answer to an already answered question.

Moreover, you could venture over to N54tech, where this same topic has addressed ad nauseum. And if you don't know about N54tech, then you shouldn't be using the JB4.

Terry's response to you is correct, whether you like it or not. You are hung up on the graph, where the answer is explicit in saying that the wires do much more than simply add a few hp/tq. Yet you continued discussing the hp/tq gain, and the reply was that you seem to know more than him since you aren't listening.

If you feel comfortable skipping them, then skip them. You'll be back when you're misfiring and running rich -- and the solution to that will be to connect the fuel wires.
 
I never attacked Terry, I simply was asking him to explain how the fuel wires gave "much" more horsepower on Map2; that was not addressed on N54tech. When I posted my original question it was done respectfully, no need for you to act like you're king as well as a sch**k. I'm now done wasting my time with you.

Topic has been discussed to death but I'll make one more effort to clear up any confusion. Here are the two charts in question overlayed, note the fuel control wires are adding 30whp in the meat of the power band, and around 50whp at redline. During a real world run the ECU sits in a very rich range virtually the entire run so with fuel control wires active you can expect around 30whp+ worth of performance during a race. That's very significant.
