The only saving grace is that there is apparently someone else who is in the same boat over at Napelton so at last I am not alone in this.

2+ months with no Stinger...... I REALLY hope they gave you another Stinger to drive because of this screw up.....

oh man, that sucks. I'm truly sorry. What are you going to do? I have booked to have PPF installed on 9/25, but this kind of thing makes me wonder. A. it could help long term, but B. could be wasted money if it has to get peeled off for a repaint
To be completely honest, i could live with the headlight peel knowing the PPF is keeping it down. However, since my doors began to exhibit chipping this last week i have decided to go with the buyback option. Waiting on paperwork from Kia HQ at this point.

The PPF has worked and still looks amazing so i would not hesitate to do it. Once the buyback is final, i may just peel up a portion to see what happens as my understanding is that Kia will repaint the yellow buybacks as well and simply resell them. Either way, it has to come off so i may as well pull it off and see what happens :)

LOL!! Sure.

The first one was so awesome we nicknamed it "White Lightning". The video is here of my 0 - 60 run....
Floored the whole time, I kid you not.

..........wow.........just wow........... They honestly gave you a Versa with a straight face?? LOL I had to deal with one of those when the body shop took pics about 2 months ago but that was only for a couple of days. This time I at least got a 2018 Altima........base model.....and I have affectionately named it the SS..... Stands for 'Silver Suppository' because it is such a s***box.

I feel for you, I really do. I'm on day 8 without mine today and the days seem to be getting longer......:cry::cry:

So, I noticed this under the headlight this morning. Is this how it starts?

That was actually the last spot on mine that I noticed, but definitely open a case for it. Go over the entire car, usually done while you wash it, and just pay attention to the paint. Look down the car and see if you can tell any imperfections, flakes, etc.

Lots of owners have reported the headlight rub problem, and its been seen on dealership lots. Pretty sure all of them have been drivers side headlight, close the grill, which is where this appears to be as well.

Shouldn't be a problem to get fixed, but open a case with the Kia Stinger Premium Customer Service first, then go to the dealer. Just helps to avoid any headaches and 'oh its a rock chip' excuses. :)

Hard to tell for sure from a picture, but to me that looks like simple mechanical damage - I'd sand the edges flat, put some touch up paint on it and not worry about it.

When I first got my car I had a really tiny chip at the back edge of the hood which I lightly sanded the edges of and touched up, and another small defect (also apparently from an impact/abrasion) in the forward passenger fender seam that got the same.

Like the headlight, others have had that same chip, at the same place, at the back of the hood - I'm almost certain it is assembly damage. I haven't had a single paint chip or issue in the almost six months since.

Thanks. Anyone got contact info for the premium service? I just see the regular info. I submitted a case online.

Vis-a-vis the plastic and metal areas not matching: at Dave's Body Shop this morning (I was having them look at a small edge flaw in my PPF), I saw this information placard in the waiting room. (Sorry for the mediocre resolution; it is just readable if you view it zoomed in). It is quite informative. This is an industry wide issue and unavoidable.

Sorry, I tried to read that but I fear it was going to blow my eyes out ... o_O

Here's a PDF of that document that should be a little easier on the ol' blinkers ... :geek:

okay, its been like a couple of weeks since i had brought my stinger in for the repaint. had to wait for the other yellow stinger to get final approval. first off, they tried put into a sorrento for the time being, so much for getting a g70 (ha!) as a side note, i have seen several stingers while driving the sorrento, WTF? i guess sorrentos do attract stingers. anyway, got pics from body shop today, as you can see from one of the pics, passenger fender was the worse spot according to the body guy. never noticed any paint chips there. and oddly enough, the other yellow that was before mine had the same problems according to the body guy.

I have never seen another Stinger while in my Stinger, it's always been when I'm in the Sorento. We are taking a trip to Florida in the sorento here shortly, so I should see a lot of Stingers :)

in fort lauderdale, besides mine that i watch as the mrs drives away rapidly every day, i have seen the same 3 while driving because we will flash our lights to each other. and one of them is my good friends blue stinger that is in my gallery. i have seen 4 parked, one with out of state plates. i know that there has to be 2 other yellows in the area because there were three for sale locally when i purchased mine. while in the sorrento, i saw 2 others, back to back, out of state plates, they were premiums by the look of the nose, and driving like morons.

If there are any yellow Stingers around without paint issues they will be very rare and worth more.

The one local Yellow I know of has pristine paint. (I believe I've mentioned "her" before.)

You def are not! Mines came back and left it right at the dealership as I refused to take it. Back bumper was scratched, there was smeared paint (very small) in the rear passenger door, transition paint was horrible as if they didn't tried to fade it in, some of the door rubber was painted yellow as if the didn't take them off prior to painting as well as the hood vents and it took the 6 weeks to do that bad of a job. I am meeting with a Kia Rep hopefully Monday. We shall see what transpires. Frustration is definity building up.

"Building up"? How much more frustrating can this get? I am angry for you and it isn't even someone I know! Kia is going to have several/many of these bad paint jobs to answer for. Their reaching out is a fine gesture. Actually having it work, not so easily. What you got back isn't even up to the standards of the local Maaco shop where I got my Voyager repainted. Heh! Morons on our team. It all falls down when "it is so hard to find good help these days."
