Is there a way to disable the beep noise (piezo, not horn) when locking/unlocking the car? I'd prefer total silence. I tried hunting for something in the manual, and in the various settings in both the infotainment screen and the instrument cluster but haven't found anything.

I'm hoping there might be some sequence of button presses with the key FOB that does this.

BTW, Random discovery while messing around:
1. Press the unlock button for >4 seconds.
2. While unlock button is pressed, press the panic button. You'll see the blinkers flash 3 times.

Turns out this toggles the setting for whether you need to press the unlock button one or twice to unlock all doors.

Any other "secret" codes with our FOB that you're aware of?

This seems to me american settings. I have never heard my european/swedish sold stinger make noise unless i put my foot down to floor :D

Indeed. In my previous car I was able to turn off the beep by coding, but unfortunately no one has figured out how to do that with Kias yet.

Perhaps I missed a step zero, wherein the doors should already be in a locked or unlocked position before going through that sequence.

tried every possible permutation. nope. does nothing.

you probably have an aftermarket system.

Got the instructions wrong.
1. Press unlock once (not long-press, just normal)
2. Long-press unlock and lock buttons at the same time for a few seconds until the blinkers flash.

Just tried it, and it worked.

Can't seem to edit the original post anymore. Must be a feature that was removed during the forum upgrade.

Nope, stock. USA RWD GT2.

this works. how the hell does one figure this shit out, just sit around under quarantine pressing every combination of buttons possible? :p

Wish I could say I just magically found it, but these kinds of sequences do something in many vehicle models.

In fact, in Subarus, the incorrect instructions I posted in the first post disables the beep. That's how I got it mixed up.

Has anyone else gotten this to work? I was able to get the lights to flash by following the directions but when I lock/unlock, it still beeps. I have a 2020 awd gt.

I know this thread is old but ironically enough I recently installed an aftermarket Amp to my car and had to unplug the ground on the battery. Anyways after I finished the install my car no longer beeps when it locks the doors. I was actually looking for a way to get it to beep, flash the lights, and fold the mirrors like it used to. Now it just locks. In the manual it says that this will happen when a car door is ajar and trying to lock vehicle. This will also prevent the car from going into anti-theft mode. But I still get a blinking red light on dashboard as if it's armed. Idk if it's worth un-hooking your neg ground on your battery to see if it prevents the noise from occurring after locking. I am actually installing another Amp for some aftermarket component speakers and woofers so I'll have to try this whole sequence again. I will let you know if I magically gain the "beep" back lol

Yeah, let us know cuz I hate that shit with a passion. Wanna lock/unlock without all the attention.

Anyone found a way to turn off the lock/unlock chime on the Kia Stinger? I got a 2023 model and holding the lock/unlock buttons for ~4 seconds doesn't work. The lights flash like others have said, but the chime/beeps continue when locking and unlocking the car.

I got a 2023 Stinger GT2 about a week ago and am trying to figure out how to turn off the beeps as well. Holding the lock/unlock buttons on the remote for 4 seconds makes the lights flash for me too, but the chimes are still on. I updated to the latest firmware and that didn't do anything. My salesman is supposed to be getting with the service department to see if there is a way. I'll post an update if I hear back. Hoping someone has a fix for this.

The one under the dash also cancels the tick tick to your turn signals. So if you don't mind not hearing your turn signals then you're fine. I tried this about a year ago unplugged it plugged it back in.
Good video though

Do these turn off the beep beep when you lock/unlock the doors?
