I've searched this forum, and the thick user manual, and didn't find anything about a windshield washer fluid low level warning light or indicator in this $50K car packed with tons of features (I've got the fully loaded Canadian GT Limited model).
Seriously ? Unless there's something that I'm missing ?
Also, the manual states that the reservoir is translucent to allow manually/visually checking the washer fluid level, but in my Stinger the filling funnel is black and opaque ?
Unless I'm not looking in the right place ?

There most assuredly is a low washer fluid warning, I've been staring at it, and listening to the warning ding, for two weeks now. Trying to hold off until oil change next week.

On the US Stinger it appears after the system check at startup.

I've found that page in the French Canadian version that I have, and it lists everything EXCEPT the last washer fluid level one. I guess the Canadian version of this car doesn't have such a monitoring sensor perhaps ? Can any other Canadian member here confirm that ?

Also, in the US version with the warning symbol, how can you be sure that it's your washer fluid level that is low and not some other system malfunction listed instead ? Does the LCD display actually tell you what the warning is with a written message ?

Waaaaa. US didn’t get the UVO remote start. You don’t have the low wiper fluid warning.

think you won out on that trade off.

It does, yes:

Thanks for that. I guess I'll have to wait until I run out of washer fluid to find out ? I just hope it's not on a winter sunny day with damp roads going cruising speed on the highway when that will happen...:laugh:

Page 4-90 of my 2018 Canadian owners manual. You should download the manual PDF from KIA - makes it a lot easier to search for things ...

:D You can say that again ! But, actually, it's spelled tabarnac (which, loosely translated means "oh s***" !)

BTW, this whole thread was started after the spray nozzles stopped working (because they froze) this week, the temperature having suddenly dipped way below freezing point here, since the car is probably still partly filled with summer washer fluid because the previous owner went to Florida in the winter with it. So I mistakenly thought that I had run out of washer fluid without any warning.

Maybe there are cars that have a GAUGE (yeah, just what you know from your gas tank), but in the absence of a GAUGE, get used to checking the windshield washer fluid more or less regularly yourself. Take the lid off the reservoir and if you don't see anything liquid, whether you have a light coming on or not, FILL IT UP. Trust me, you will close the hood with a feeling of accomplishment and having serviced your car and eliminated the anxiety factor. You also sleep better and treat the dog like you should.

$50K car or not. The dash advisory does not tell you how many spritzes you got left. So once the light comes on, you start collecting your spit because you know you are are going to be soon S.O.L. And that's just not good.

And if you live in a place where they offer WINTER windshield washer fluid, buy a few extra jugs to get you through the summer, because the stuff cleans better and you don't get surprised by sudden cold spells.

Happy and safe driving everybody. :):):)

What's wrong with "merde"? Short & concise. Better than "Scheisse" IMHO.
That word is used by the French from France. Here in Quebec we use our own particular dialect (largely inspired by Catholic Religion words, but often distorted) for swear words. Like crisse (Christ), tabarnac also sometimes spelled tabarnak (tabernacle), osti (hostie), câlisse (calice), etc...
So you see, when things go wrong, we French Canadian become suddenly very religious people...

To get back on topic, I already added winter grade washer fluid, but it's still mixed with some summer grade left in the reservoir. I just hope it won't freeze on me again.

Pretty sure I saw the low washer fluid warning on my gauge last winter, it was a welcome change from my '15 Mustang that DID NOT have that feature. It's always fun to not check your wiper fluid, only to run out completely on the messiest day of the year.

If it's anything like my 2013 Optima behaved, the icon will come and go depending on the car's orientation. Which translates into refill it soon. The Optima would take a full gallon of fluid when the icon came on.
