Densos toast after 9k miles

..Buys 50k car, doesn't like to pay $160 for spark plugs. Lol. If the HKS last a long time then I have no problem paying for them. Good luck with your search though.

I can see your point. But, I've also seen the exact same product double in price because the brand slapped on the item. Not sure if this is true for the HKS vs NGK.

I'll report back when I install my Brisk plugs. Just ordered. I'll do an MPG comparison on the same section of freeway, before and after. I suppose I could also do some 0-60's and both log them and time them via Dragy.

I've read a lot of good and bad regarding Brisk. Is anyone familiar with the stock coil packs, would improved packs be worth the investment, what is available currently? Thanks

The coil packs themselves are fine. There's no replacements I've heard of.
The problem is the OE tune is right on the edge of over-optimizing the spark. That's why Tork got good results by increasing the dwell on the coils.

Not really, upgraded heat range plugs can handle the timing advance with a good tune. I know a lot of guys on the golf platform that upgrade to rs3 coil packs. They don't really do much, but people would claim the car accelerated smoother. I'll be honest I bought them, and didn't see any difference. There were guys that ran bigger turbos on built motors that still had the stock coil packs. You could honestly Google what a coil pack does, then read what the difference is in racing applications. That way it isn't just hearsay on a forum.

Just changed my plugs (Densos) after 20K miles, here's what they looked like.

Gaps were:
.027
.028
.028
.028
.030
.030

How often are you supposed to replace the plugs if you're NOT tuned?

I do eventually plan on getting JB4, but want to know for comparison sake.

Thanks

They're not "toast" but I'm gonna stick with 20K max replacement interval.

Look at the middle left pic, that electrode is getting super thin and I wouldn't want that little ball tip breaking off and going for a ride in my engine.

.022 original gap.

Yes I replaced with same plugs, The Densos perform well enough with the correct gap.
Gave it the beans a few times on this morning's commute with no issues.
Always open to other options after these are done though.

I've read stock plugs regaled to 24 with jb4 works to. Whas that bad information?
