My dealer called to tell me that 1 Stinger will be in their show room for 3 days later this month . Apparently they are going to rotate it througout the local dealers prior to the ordered cars arriving in early December . He said Kia are going to "destroy" the car once the tour is complete because its simply a show car not "road worthy" his words ! I assume they will have cars for all major Canadian markets ...................

This seems a bit hard to believe. "It's not road worthy in the US and is heading back to Korea" seems a lot more likely.

Might be an either/or, given this tidbit from the dealer display thread...

A document I saw in the glove box was a letter from the EPA giving permission to Kia to bring in 90 VIN numbers to the US on the condition that they be not driven and that these cars should be destroyed or shipped out of the US after the demo is over.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I heard the same thing from a GM at one of the local dealerships here in Georgia. They are required to take a picture of the VIN# of the car before and after it's demolished.

much cheaper to destroy here vs shipping back ..................

I'm sure this is true, but it's still much more expensive than shipping it back and selling it.

the dealer said it these cars were hand built and not road worthy , just show cars ..................I do business in China and can tell you that shipping a car to and from Asia is not cheap

I didn't mention it in the other thread, but the dealership guy who was giving me all info about dates/ordering/etc said the exact same thing to me, that it would be destroyed once they're done with it and have actual US prod. models in. FWIW, the one I looked at definitely seemed Korean spec, complete with all of the "E" badging.
