Hello there beautiful!

Thanks everyone! BTW, who Merlin? I'm assuming he was the unfortunate owner of a lemon.

I'm sure I'll read all about him. I like this forum, and I love this car!

Finally here. Good feeling isn't it. Merlin is a prolific poster on this forum. You will get to know him if you hang around. And I think he would say his Stinger is the furthest thing from a lemon there is. Looks like a nice day to go driving there by the way.

Nasscar, the day's sunny enough, but I only have about 500km so far. Today is grocery day, though. I'll take the long way lol

I have a plan for break in. Basically, 0 to 1000km I'll take it easy and modulate revs. From 1000 to 5000 I'll give her a little, and then an oil change. Then, from 5000 onwards I drive her like I stole her

Sounds like a good plan.

I never heard of bedding brakes, but I'm glad I have now! Just googled something quick and it makes sense. Thank you!

The manual actually has something to say about this: for the first six hundred miles, keep the RPMs between 2K and 4K, and don't maintain a constant speed for long periods. Go easy on the brakes; no hooning. Bedding doesn't count; but apparently, Kia doesn't think you need to bed the brakes. I didn't: I'm on the OEM at 33K plus miles and over two years with nary a peep from my brakes. You can trust that.

Congratulations on your new arrival. Just in time for the good weather too. :)

Oh, and park carefully. This car, being low and wide, messes with spatial perceptions (you don't have to ask me how I know Does anybody else need to learn where the wheels are on this car?).

Great looking car! Congrats.
I would also look into getting some oil catch cans installed.

Re:break in, I'm pretty much doing this, but the revs do stay under 2000 when cruising with comfort, so I've been also switching up modes to get the needle to dance between 2 and 4.

Wheel rash? Been there, don't want to do that again. That's why 360 camera is so good!

Grest looking car! Congrats.

I actually have one in the mail... I'm kinda at my budget this month (because car purchase), so I bought a Mishimoto knockoff. I will look at it very carefully before using it, but I was told this particular one is from the same factory. It's cheap though, so if it doesn't meet muster, I'll toss it in the bin

Amazing looking car. Let me know how the initial drive goes.

I am at 30K km on my 2018. Where did you pick up your oil catch cans from?

500+km of break in driving, so not too exciting, but the car feels tight and the engine is obviously string, even though I'm only revving 3 to 4 gees max.

Re: oil catch can, a buddy told me about this one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07KQRTDSG/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_evpOEbYY1BTVZ

We will see how good this is

Yeah. I stayed in Sport during the break in period, and used the paddle shifters to control the revs.

You lucky dog. Maybe you'll avoid curb rash entirely. Here's hoping.

I'll bite, you have to at least meet me in Northern New Brunswick though...
Definitely look into getting and installing the BMS Pedal tuner its a game changer when it comes to throttle response, its the only mod I have on mine. I will look into other mods but there are no tuners in my area with an AWD Dyno, hopefully soon.
Congrats!

Head out west and I'll meet ya.

Re: racing, I should have said I was just joking. The wife will kill me if I total, or otherwise incapacitate, the brand new family sedan. Especially because she fell in love with the Stinger as well lol

You know, though, I am out west as well. Mississauga anyway. I've few Stingers in the past three days, I might've seen you around

I am in Mississauga/Oakville border as well. Will look out for your Stinger!

By west I meant actually west. Like Alberta west.

I've always wanted to go to either Edmonton, Calgary, or both. My post-corona travel list is getting huge! It's too bad about the Stamprde
