Debating whether to go Stinger or G70

I was also considering a G70 but ended up going with a Stinger for the hatch. I need to put a mountain bike back there. While I'm pretty sure it would have fit in the G70 somehow, the Stinger is more practical. The G70 was definitely the winner for me in terms of looks though.

Also, I thought that a LSD was standard on all RWD GTs for 2019. Or are you talking about AWDs specifically? It occurs to me I don't even know for sure if my 2019 GT2 RWD has a LSD; not that kind of a driver :)

I'm done with daily drivers that are not AWD. I prefer RWD over FWD all day long for driving dynamics but AWD trumps either.

I stopped by Genesis of North Kingstown RI today,(they were closed of course) which is still very much part of the Hyundai dealer and has a look at the G70 in the flesh. It really does look great seeing it up and close. Photos really do not do it justice. Both my partner and I like the lines but the back seat does look as cramped as reviews say. I still like the Stinger's styling inside and out much better than the G70. but outside the G70 is quite attractive.

Wow, lady, you are a boon companion. :D I am really hoping that you get a Stinger so that you can continue to contribute valuable instruction. Clearly you know your stuff from long experience. (I noticed that you didn't mention the G70 in this last paragraph, so that is a good sign that you are turning toward the Stinger. It is without doubt the prettier, and more practical, choice.)

I stopped at both a Genesis and a Kia dealer Thanksgiving and yesterday. We couldn't get in to the Kia dealer Thursday because the gates were closed and there isn't much of a shoulder on Rte. 2 in Warwick (RI) but we did pull into the Genesis dealer and the G70 looked nice, but.. I was still learning toward the dealer and my partner hadn't seen it yet. When we went to the Kia dealer yesterday they pulled a GT2 around for us (their lot is a mess due to repaving) and when they pulled it up, she gasped and said "Ooooooh, is that it? Wow!"

She was sold before she even saw the interior. When she sat in it, she said it is like a mix of Mercedes and Audi. The interior quality isn't quite Audi S4 quality, but very, very close, and the slight difference isn't worth $12K (admittedly, if I go S4 Prestige, it would CPO so the difference between a GT2 or S4 would be minimal). However I like the interior and lines of the Stinger better, and of course, the warranty is better. Plus, the Stinger seems to have about as much tuning potential. I plan to keep it stock (Maybe a JB4 with just map 1 after break in period) for a good while engine-wise, but I'll be swapping in swaybars, end link braces and draw stiffener kits if they're available, and binning the stock pads in favor of harder pads on the first brake pad replacement.

They had the detailed brochures for the 2020 on hand, and whether it has UVO link is still unclear but the rep I spoke to there said they are fairly sure UVO Link will be in the 2020. The brochure isn't clear on that particular aspect. I'll still be snail mailing Kia's and Hyundai's' c-suite officers.

We can both "settle" for the G70 but we both prefer the Stinger. She's in for a treat because she never had an opportunity to ride in my ZR1 (a tree fell on it before we met) and has never driven any sort of performance car.

We only have the RWD option here in OZ and all RWD Stinger 's have the Limited Slip Differential, so I'm sure your's probably does.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The G70 is a nice looking car. Rides nice too. I thought about it but the Stinger overwhelmingly won me over. I got stung...In a good way.
