So while only have my sunset yellow gt2 for a week, I've already encountered a bit of an issue that's mostly my doing. While taking off the rear KIA badge, I must have not been patient enough because I incurred some pretty nasty paint chips underneath. I saw as I was (as gently as I could but admittedly I could've been more patient) prying it off after tediously going at it with go gone and fishing line. Once I saw the atrocity underneath, I immediately put the badge back into place. My KIA emblem is already cracked and worn looking and I just really want it off there. What's the best course of action for trying to fix the flake spots and getting the stinger script on there?
Also, side question, do the emblems for GT and AWD have pegs underneath or are they just adhesive like the small stinger script?

Did the previous owner have the paint corrected under warranty? The yellow Stingers were problems with paint falling off.

I thought about this too. How do I make a claim for the paint correction or check if this one already had been involved in the recall?

the 2 smaller emblems dont have pins just adhesive , unfortunetaly you have a problem that requires a repaint , get a quote from an autobody shop unless you can live with noticeable touch ups , probably $500 to repaint that panel

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
The reason why people on here are wrecking their paint is because you guys are using bloody heat guns
Just use a hairdryer get it warm only as the tailgate is plastic and nose is rubber (well not rubber), just take your time using fishing line is ok but make sure your pulling towards you as you saw away at it. The best way to remove the glue and tape residue is a pinstripe removing wheel..it's made of rubber you put it in drill and lightly apply pressure while spinning of course to glue or tape and bingo watch it all come off not one swirl mark even..we used this method always when i worked in Panel Shop (body shop)...get it on ebay

I actually managed to ruin my paint without applying heat (i avoided it for the reason you described but now realize maybe using a blowdryer wouldve been the right call). But thanks for the tip on removing the adhesive. I got a good bit of it off but there is are still discernible patches of residue.

I'm sorry to hear this. I just rebadged mine yesterday and was very lucky I guess. I was afraid to do it because of posts like this but I liked the reward vs the risk.

I saw common reports that the adhesive was generally quite difficult to get off however for me, this was the easiest part of the process as it was very soft and pliable... even in a 30f degree garage.

I did have a warm engine and used a hairdryer BRIEFLY.
