Wow, the tech said the car has a DSG?! My understanding up here in Canada is that certain techs were trained to work on the Stinger and only those techs can complete work on the cars here.
So yeah, my receipt shows 8 quarts. The owners manual quotes 7.29 quarts for a drain and refill. The service manual says total capacity is 8.14 quarts, oil pan is 7.19 quarts, drain and refill including filter (agrees with the OM) is 7.29 quarts.
Talked to the service manager again and pointed this out. He says they actually put 7.3 quarts in the car, "which it requires", but the billing system doesn't let them charge partial quarts, so it has to say 8. It's on its way back a second time, on a wrecker.
The service manager called me back this morning to see how it had settled. I told him it was still overfilled, and I wanted my money back and I would fix it myself. He agreed.
So I drove an 45 min up the road to the nearest Harbor Freight to buy the extraction pump and pumped it out. Right now I'm waiting for the level to settle so I can check it a final time and see how much I pulled out.
What type of oil does the dealership use? Traditional dino-oil, or synthetic? Pretty sure it's non-synthetic.

Here's how much oil I pulled out of the Stinger. This brought the level DOWN to the Full mark with the oil completely warm. In case you can't read the markings, it's just shy of 2 cups, or a 1/2 quart (U.S.).
Yeah, I usually use Royal Purple, but right then I was worried about pulling too much out and having to put a little back in. I didn't want to mix normal and synthetic.
When the mechanic said it has a DSG, i said "are you sure, because I think it has an 8 speed automatic. He said I was wrong." I just walked away in disbelief.
I printed a sticker from a Dymo labeler that said "Engine requires 7.3 QTS 5W-30 Synthetic oil only" and put it on the aluminum brace near the dipstick and carefully wrapped it with packing tape. That way it won't be overfilled whoever does the work.
John McGrath here in Canberra overfilled mine by 750mls, so I bought an oil extractor and I’m actually grateful that this happened to which led me to buying the extractor.
I change both of my new cars oil every 2k Km’s, but I only change the filter every 6k. The extractor makes this a no brainer 20min job.
But the question is, what actual damage will, not can, but will actually happen with a quart/liter overfilled?

Straight from google search...“When too much oil is added, the level in the oil pan becomes too high. That allows a fast-moving lobed rod called the crankshaft to come into contact with the oil and essentially aerate it. The result is a foamy, frothy substance that cannot properly lubricate the engine.”
I drove 30 miles home without knowing mine was overfilled. Wouldn’t want to push my luck with more than 100 miles.
The service manager drove out to my house to verify the oil was indeed over the level. He's sending a flatbed to the house to take it back to the dealership to fix.
