So, my car was due its first service this month. Booked it in over a month ago for tomorrow (in order to be sure of a courtesy car and be serviced within guidelines) but just had a call from the dealership to say the oil filter is on back order so had to re-book for a month's time.
She said whenever something os on back order it is usually a month before they catch up.
Is this a regular thing with KIA?
Naturally I want assurance that falling out of the 6 month guideline for servicing won't affect the warranty although in reality the car is still only on 1300 miles so it will be well within mileage guidelines

But thought people might want a heads up to maybe book a little earlier than normal in future

Shouldn't be an issue as global shortage of filters now plus dealer would have it recorded.

Had the same issue with both of my dealerships here... local (a few miles away) and one a bit south (about half an hour away)... went to a trusted mechanic who by miracle had the OEM filter available... seems that Kia has issues with back orders and parts in stock... it took them over a month to order the correct pads and rotors for my vehicle...

It's pretty common it seems lmfao :p

Hmm, I ordered two from Amazon, the official Kia filter and the WIX. I want to compare them side by side. They came yesterday but I haven't opened them yet.
So they are available.

Howdy and welcome. The normal interval for service is every 6K miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.

My Porsche 981 recently had engine mount failure and this car has 2, just the parts is 3,000 USD for a couple of engine mounts which is backordered according to the dealer cuz they have many failed, months still waiting no parts available, Porsches are good while they work once you are out of warranty you are doomed it becomes a endless money pit.
