Here's the big question...

What would it take to retrofit DBL into a 2019 GT1 with the LED headlamps? Is it just the housing? Module? Anyone know or seen anything on this?

My salesman lied to me and said this car had it when I compromised on a GT1 instead of a GT2, I *really* wanted DBL.

I welcome any input.

Nobody has tried doing it as far as I know.

You can try scouring through & compare the online parts catalogs between vehicles to see if there are any inline modules that a GT1 does not have.
I'd also look to see if the plugs at the lamps for GT1 and GT2 are different.
Or, if you could find a friendly neighbor with a GT2 and some time you could swap one out and test it.

Motors, coding, sensors, etc. it won’t be easy

The DBL motors will be internal to the headlamp assembly, the sensors are already in the steering column and are used by traction control etc. There really isn't coding, You need a signal wire that will provide the steering angle but I expect that will already be there. We've seen that KIA doesn't tend to use different wiring harnesses and missing options can be added by just plugging them into the appropriate port on the existing main harness.

Those shouldn't be barriers. My bet is that it's just a different headlight with integrated DBL motors and perhaps another module hidden somewhere to interpret the steering output and drive the servo motor. It could all be housed in the headlamps and be a simple swap, IDK. Someone with enough of a desire just needs to do some digging and try it out.

It is quite possible the vehicle is prepped for the modules on a GT1... also possible it is an entirely different unit. You'll need to see them both side by side I guess.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
P/N for a GT1 left headlamp assembly is 92101-J5030 ($715)
P/N for a GT2 left headlamp assembly is 92101-J5220 ($929)

Then there are two of the 92170-J5000 ($273 ea.) control modules listed for the DBL models.

This is according to Kia Factory Parts Online | KiaFactoryPartsOnline.com

I don't really find the DBL's all that useful cool to talk about but not really that helpful to me anyway.

I like to watch them move side to side in my neighborhood, lol. But DBLs are not active when the brights are on so they're not super useful at night for me (I live on back roads)
