Anyone install/hardwire a 2-channel dashcam?

I am planning on getting one in the next few when I get my car back and I have been wondering if I could (should) use the rear view mirror and wire taps for that.

I think that a camera, especially a 2-channel one would have a big power draw.

Not at all.. I've wired several into power available in your typical overhead "console"..

Good to know, I will try it and see. Thanks

Yep, took about 2 hours, all cables totally hidden, fuse taps in drivers footwell fusebox. Have the power magic pro for parking mode - ran for 2 days in parking mode before I drove the car again. Its currently parked for 10 days at the airport so hopefully I won't have a flat battery....

So you know I am going to ask you the "pictures" question.

If you wouldn't mind posting some of the tap when you get back, that would be great.

Uh-huh, after I installed it all I realised I shouldve taken pics. Do you mean you want to see the type of fuse taps?

Yeah, just the fiuse taps.

I figure the other pictures are a lost opportunity and I can figure out how to run the cables.
