• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Dash Cam Owners Australia

Where did you mount the camera? Left of mirror, right of mirror or directly under neath that big black square of tech on window? Can you post some pics?
Have not used my dashcam in my Stinger yet, i am still using it in my VZ Commodore, which i intend too sell, but i like to place the dashcam right of mirror, only because it doesn't fit underneath the rear view mirror, and placing it closer to me, i can view screen, you can take still photos, and you can use Emergency Mode with ease.
After i post this im going to check where i would place the dashcam in my Stinger, "I'll be back":):rofl:

Mine is pretty much centred behind the review mirror.

Hey there @Stinger GT SS, your Blackvue dashcam fits perfectly in the centre, unfortunately my Navman has quite a bulky support piece, so it's difficult to place behind the rear view mirror, i could place it under that big black square of tech that @AV8R mentioned, but it would hang down way too far, almost like dog balls.:):rofl::rofl::rofl:

How much was your blackview?

Yes I can see that it’s huuuuge, maybe time for an upgrade just like your VZ.

I bought the VZ brand new 13 years ago this month, and i still like it as much if not more, apart from some wear and tear issues, it has been good to me, and i will be sad to see it go, but of course i have the Stinger sitting inside the garage waiting to be enjoyed.

I know I bought a new 2005 VZ SSZ in Turismo Mica, had it for 8 years. But the Stinger is the best car I have ever owned.

With all the cameras in the Stinger giving 360 degrees coverage you’d think Kia would throw in a software update to give them a record function. Shouldn’t be too hard to do the cameras run all the time anyway it’d just be an issue of the storage. Either the SD card reader used by the nav system or maybe just plug a usb drive into one of the available ports

Perth Motorbike Rider has close call with Truck.

I use BlackVue now for over 5 years, no problems, nice & compact it has wifi & Mac compatible.
I decided to get the BlackVue DR900 4K model. Supplied and fitted with power pro $ 740. Autobarn have 30% sale only today on dash cams. Normal price for dash cam alone $ 799. Picked up for $ 559. Pretty good bargain I think.

Also picked up GPS tracker.

I decided to go with the BlackVue DR750S-2CH, and got it installed by the Kia dealership. Might be a bit pricy at a little over $1k, but I get the safe piece of mind of life-time warranty on the camera and any electronic problems from the hard wiring covered within the 7-year warranty with Kia.

That is a bit pricy. Over $ 400 for installation is a bit of a rip off. Autobarn charged $ 140. Did you get Power Magic Pro for park mode?

Autobarn give lifetime warranty on wiring....and NO l don’t work for them, lol.

Don’t know how Kia could give you a lifetime warranty on the camera though. It normally comes with a 2 year warranty?

Yes, it came with the Power Magic Pro for parked mode.

As for the warranty on the camera, it might have been for 2 years. It was a few weeks ago, I might have misremembered. Thanks for pointing that out:thumbup:

Is the picture quality is good as they say?

I got rear ended by a van a few weeks ago and I couldn’t believe there wasn’t a scratch on my car. Thank goodness it was in heavy traffic and he had a huge rubber bumper.

Now all I have to do is work out how to use it, lol.

The quality is indeed very good both night and day, anywhere from SD to FHD and either 30 or 60 fps. Of course, with limited space in the micro SD card, need to balance between quality and the amount you can record.

There are so many features with cloud service and so on. So much to learn and discover with it.
