Damage from dealer

Took my baby to the stealer and got this trim part damaged, likely idiot mechanic put his weight over this plastic part and cracked it, unfortunatelly did not notice until few days after and if i would have taken the car to the dealer they would have said it was there already.

Any one knows if I can remove this part without taking off the front bumper?

I think it sits on top, I dont see why you would need to remove the bumper.

How soon would you notice that unless you popped the hood right after getting your car back? In my case, it could be months. I don't often open the hood. But you could muster your patience, go back in, open the hood and point, and wait. Their response would dictate what gets said next. You never know, a real human being might make it good for you.

I would know it before I left the dealership. I inspect my car - body, wheels and engine bay right after every service without fail.

Yeah, that is a good idea. But I've done that maybe once in my life. This will probably bite me one day.

That's a great idea, will update you guys what the dealer said. Chances they will fix this is abysmally low but i guess I don't loose anything by asking. Of course i learned my lesson and will never take my cars to dealers after this.

At least that part is not very expensive. Around $50 on Ebay. But I believe, you will need to remove the bumper, in order to replace it. Not 100% sure though.

Yeah I was looking at videos where this plastic part seems to be attached by many clips so I would have to remove the bumper, but well my fault for
1. takin the car to the dealer
2. not checking the engine compartment prior leaving

Lesson learned.

I am due for spark plugs the dealer wants 600 plus tax! so with this incident I say F no, Im doing it myself!

That's a great idea. I don't inspect the whole car, but I do inspect the areas that were supposedly serviced, like if the oil filter was actually replaced, or if the tires were actually rotated, etc. Next time I'll go over the whole car.
