I know this is buried in one of threads, but can we have this thread be dedicated to only posting current finance and lease incentives for the Stinger? The current batch runs through 4/1 - I'm likely going to miss those. What is coming down the pipe for April/May?

For those dealers on the forum - help the group out.

Thanks turbo - good site for financing info!!

IIRC you can mostly expect the existing incentives to get rolled into the next month.

Yeah, looks like you were right - autobytel has the new numbers, and they seem identical to last month (for GT/GT1/GT2 AWD models, the ones I'm interested in), except for no extra $1000 lease cash for 2018 AWD.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
There is a deal at my local Kia Dealer for a new 2018 Stinger AWD GT2 fully loaded that MSRP'ed for $52,845, that has been discounted to $40,845. Should I consider it over a 2019? I can live without rear heated seats, wireless charging and a 360º camera as the major differences. Do you think the price is fair?

That seems like a great starting point if it's a dealer discount (i.e. pre-incentives). Negotiate from there and then stack lease cash and you will have yourself a fantastic deal.

The breakdown of the lower price includes $9,000 from the dealer and $3,000 in the form of a rebate. I do want to own the car. Is it worth going through the process of a pretend lease to see if I can buy it for a lower cost a few months later? I will trade in a 2014 Kia Forte EX that still has payments, but I'm not upside down anymore.

Careful on some of those to good to be true prices that dealers advertise. There are dealers by me advertising new 2019 GT2 AWD's for $42k. When pressed for what that number is, it is all possible incentives that not everyone will be eligible for.

That $9000 sounds awfully like the lease cash ($9500) for an '18 GT2. Many Kia dealers are including Kia incentives in their prices. Or, maybe they're giving you a good discount and including loyalty and/or conquest - you seem to qualify for loyalty. Wish I qualified for conquest :-(

If you can get lease cash on top of that, let me know if they have another one :-)

The website does not identify what the $9,000 discount is, but I'm thinking that since it is new and never titled, they really want to get it out of the door. I played with the lease option with $1,500 cash down, and the payment(I'm sure without taxes and such) was $301 for 36 months. I sure could make those kind of payments!

I emailed the dealer and the salesperson I was in contact with earlier back in December. It would be awesome if I could put this deal together! I don't even care that the car is red!

  1. I wouldn't put too much stock in the price on the website. You need a full breakdown of what the OTD price before you can really determine if the deal is what you think it is. I would say that more than half the time with any dealer sale, there is a wrench thrown in somewhere that makes it not worth it. Their goal is to get you excited enough that by the time you walk in the door, you'll take whatever shit is thrown your way because you're already too emotionally committed to walk away.
  2. Don't put cash down on a lease. There is no good reason to have cash into a lease unless you need to do that for some kind of personal problem with spending money.
  3. Don't focus on monthly payments. Ever.
  4. These are generally not good leases to keep. I wouldn't recommend leasing if you're not going to buy the car out. The best option, almost across the board, is to lease and then buy the lease out as quickly as possible.

Thanks for the good feedback! If they contact me, I will be dealing with them on my terms, as I don't need this car. My present car is just fine, with no problems-- just looking for a bit more car! OTD price is very important, as is the residual for the buyout. I'm assuming they will push for Kia holding the lease. If they can't get it right, I can always look towards a 2019 model!

What do you mean by that? If you lease from a Kia dealership, KMF will be the leaseholder. Don't mention to them that you want to buy out the lease. It's immaterial to them and will just complicate your negotiations. Worry about buying out the lease after your car is in the driveway.

I hear you, mum's the word on buying out the lease. By the way, the salesperson just emailed me back tonight:
"Hello Edward! Yes, that vehicle is still available. When would you like to come take it home?" I would say this is pretty typical of sales?

I just looked on Kelly Blue Book, and the value of a used 2018 Kia Stinger GT2 is $43k-$37k, So their valuation is within this range. I'm going to make an appointment for tomorrow and see what I shall see...

Okay, I'm going in! Here is some information related to the deal offer on the website. Please give feedback. I am seriously thinking of doing the lease then buyout deal. Here are the numbers: Screen Shot 2019-04-05 at 10.40.46 AM.webpScreen Shot 2019-04-05 at 10.41.25 AM.webp

Looks like they're adding in a conquest / loyalty $3k there. But, still a good deal. Let us know how it turns out. With $10K lease cash, I might be willing to fly up to MN.. Looks like they have 4 Red GT2 AWDs..
