Hi Everyone,

Never posted on the forum before, but come here often to keep up with newest mods and learning from other fellow Kia Stinger owners. I own a Kia Stinger GT1 (Ceramic Silver), and am purchasing the Borla S-Type Exhaust w/ Jun BL Downpipes and have seen others post about replacing the gaskets (crush gaskets) for the downpipes, not sure if you need them for the catback as well, but if so i'll purchase them. I want to do things right and ensure a zero leak install best as possible.

Can anyone provide links/direction on where to purchase the crush gaskets for downpipes and catback (if necessary). Open to everyone's advice on this as this will be my first aftermarket exhaust.

Is it best practice to replace them or no?

Thanks!

All of the gaskets in the Stinger exhaust are multi-layer steel (MLS). They are re-usable. No need to replace them for a very long time.

Traditional paper/foil exhaust gaskets rely on permanent crush to make a seal. MLS gaskets are more like a spring - the go back to their manufactured shape when removed.

Thank you @oddball . Appreciate the insight and info. I've just seen other poster says its best practice and wanted to get confirmation. I'll lean towards not replacing them unless someone states different.

Thanks again.

Sure, there's no problem with replacing gaskets. Might as well if it's convenient. But in this case it's not necessary.
