3.3TT Creating True Plug-N-Play JB4 Harness (w/Fuel Wires)

This plug and play quick install adapter allows you to install a posi-tap for fuel control tuning without piercing the factory O2 sensor wiring providing a completely reversible connection.
It's 63 USD plus 17.99 USD for shipping. Add the 2.99CAD paypal fee for international money transfer and the currency exchange rate that they give you which SUCK lol and that amounts to 113 CAD. That's what it cost me to send Ecko04 81 USD.

I'm still interest at that price. I'm already pre-lubed from other US based purchases. The repeated attacks on my wallet has made it rather loose...

I received the fuel wires and installed them the same day. They look really well made and am grateful for ecko04's time spent and hard work in putting this together but is there any way to verify the fuel wire harnesses are working and communicating with the JB4 unit?

Can't thank you enough ecko, excellent work. Got mine on Tuesday, installed today.

Can't figure out how to put the images in order from my phone but you get the gist

Yeah, got mine too.. Will look at the install next month, probably, after kids are back to school..

There’s always Apple Pay. Might be a more economical option.

Apple Pay charges a percentage as well. Not sure if there is a difference in charges between US and Canada.

If tied to a debit card...I think it might be free. Otherwise it might be as high as 3%.

Got mine in yesterday, like most people in the first batch. I installed this morning. I should have honestly pulled out the JB4 to do it inside rather in the engine bay. But was trying to do it quick before work. Everything provided was great! I just didn't have an extension cord long enough to reach to the car for my heat gun, and with the head the lighter wasn't working that great and pretty much messed up the heat shrink connectors. They didn't hold when I went to tug at them. So I just did it with normal connector and heat plain heat shrink. I will order the same ones that came with it later and clean it up. I just need to clean my driveway of the tree we knocked down a couple weeks ago to be able to drive the car into my shop and do it correctly and not in a rush lol.

Thanks @ecko04!

Installed mine on Friday, way better than the tap option. Thanks for taking on this project.

Fuel wires are only active during WOT. Looking at your logs, you'd see your Fuel Enrichment (fuelen) column adjusting, not necessarily linear, but if you see values in the fuelen column when you're WOT then they're working. Additionally, the values will not remain consistent nor continue to increase, and may well decrease and at times you may see 0, when you're at WOT.

I ran WOT a few times today and I didn't see any values in the fuelen column on the logs. I actually had a CEL pop up and the car started running sluggish. The OBD code read P0000. I checked under the hood and everything looked fine so I ended up unplugging the wire harness and reconnected the original O2 sensor wires and the CEL went away. Anyone having this issue?

Have a look at the main JB4 thread or N54Tech. P0000 is a ghost code that has been mentioned before and resolved by rebooting the JB4 or updating the firmware. If the values of AFR and AFR2 are changing, the wires are working. Alternatively, you can contact Terry directly for support.

If one of your AFR values is constant at 14.7 then there are issues somewhere.

The CEL only came on after installing the harness and running WOT several times and immediately went away after disconnecting the harness and reconnecting the oem o2 sensor wires. The AFR without the harness is variable but with the harness,it is at a constant 14.7. That would leave me to believe the harness is the concern unless I'm mistaken. Is it possible that the harness is not allowing the o2 sensor to communicate? I saw in another thread where someone forgot to plug in a o2 sensor wire and had the same CEL with P0000 code. The harness does not hinder the o2 sensor’s ability to communicate, that would defeat the purpose of the harness. If it’s doing so then there’s a chance something it wrong with the harness, but you first need to double check that your fuel wire is indeed secured in the solder sleeve. If that isn’t secured and somehow was pulled out or isn’t making contact, it would also cause the same problem.

If it is the harness, just mail both of them back and I’ll have a look with a meter to test for continuity and/or replace the offending pins.

It could be the harness. Just to rule out any other possibility, double check that your fuel wire is indeed secured in the solder sleeve. If that isn’t secured and somehow was pulled out or isn’t making contact, it would also cause the same problem.

Just curious...for each harness that you created...did you use a volt meter to make sure the wire you added is correctly attached to the harness itself?

Just trying to knock out simple trouble shooting. I guess one can test themselves...but everything is taped up so nicely...you would have to give specific directions on which pin to test on against the wire sticking out. This would be easier than sending it back, etc.

We’re not going to get into that level of diagnostics here.

The issue isn’t with the breakout wire and probably is more so associated with the pins in the connector than anything (i.e., something is not making a connection)

The breakout wire itself wouldn’t cause the issue described, but I’d prefer to have a look myself — and fix my own problem — especially since I doubt anyone has the $500+ tool necessary to re-pin and secure those connectors.

Keep in mind that this was designed to be PNP so if anyone is having issues I would like to resolve those issues myself to keep the complexity level to a minimum.

@x4nd3r05 if after you check the ensure the fuel wires are indeed connected and secure, you’re still having issues just PM me and we’ll troubleshoot from there.

Thanks and kudos to @ecko04 ! The man goes the extra mile to help members of the community. Thanks, also, for sharing your insight and knowledge! It was great meeting and talking with you.

Cheers

Installed mine on Sunday. Everything went smooth!

Thanks again @ecko04

Just a thought, would these o2 harnesses you've made work for Lap3 Protuner? I know they tap into the wires with positaps also.
