Crack the trunk / Paint missing from latch !

Do you take off the plates each time you wash your car?

Maybe I need to sit down and think of a better way to tell this to some of you on here.

My license plates cover the cracker area. And NO, I do not wax each time I wash, there's no point in that. Not to mention, I use a spray on detailer while I rub it down in the garage. Where you see the paint peeling is literally on top of the latch. Now you tell me how many times you looked at your latch or rubbed some wax on it.

Simmer down there feller.

I do (and did) carefully examine the car upon delivery and every week I use detailer and microfiber. I guarantee I’d see the paint issue on the latch edge (which your picture isn’t visible anymore). If the damage was ONLY hidden under the license plate, I’d totally agree with you.

The point is after 3100 miles, no way any dealer is gonna take responsibility for that.

Ok buddy.

I do wish you the best of luck.

Look at the bright side, an opportunity to debage and go with the centered stinger emblem.

IMO the damage above the camera is paint peeling off so you may have a legitimate warranty claim. I'm surprised you haven't noticed it when the trunk was open.
The plate area does appear like impact damage but I can also see some rubbing in the shape of the old plate - difficult to say the exact cause.
Plead your case to the Dealer and hopefully you will get a positive outcome. Ask to see the old plates so you can check for any damage and have a look on the reverse side for any paint transfer.

In total, it looks like you either backed into something or something backed into you. Hard enough to crack the already stressed (over tightened) licence plate frame panel, and to stress the paint on the plastic above the camera. I'd get it covered by my insurance. Any other approach is just going to be a headache argument fest. Kia won't touch this.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Update:
Went to the dealership and they agreed with me, there wasn't any other damage made to the car other than that section. Which meant it couldn't of been from impact.
So they filed a claim with KIA to get everything taken care of.... After Christmas, I'll have my info

Definitely sucks!

I didn't remove the dealer/temporary plate until several weeks after purchase either, I can't blame you for not seeing it.
