@TomTom26

I hope this is not too much to ask, but when talking to your dealer, could you possibly obtain the parts numbers required to change the North American console with the 2 open cupholders to the European or Korean style with lid ?
Very much appreciated! :)

Yeah, IF we get the parts numbers and CAN order them.....
I also think, they won't be cheap :)
We'll eventually get the part numbers and if we can't order them directly, we'll find somebody who can. But you're right - they're probably not going to be cheap...

Would be nice otherwise its the only cheap blemish i can fault not having it.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm in for this part with the rest of you if and when the time comes we can get it.

I am 99.999% sure these are NOT interchangeable. One uses the computer and all electronics to shift the gears while the other is a mechanical connection.

The idea is not to switch between the H-matic and the shift by wire consoles. It is just to swap out what looks like part #'s 84650D and 84640K with the stock US consoles to get the cup holder lid. They do have the same part # between the H-matic and shift by wire though.

Hi.

Here are two PDF's with the Part Numbers.
One for H-Matic and one for Shift-by-Wire.

@TomTom26 - That's great and I thank you very much for your efforts. Much appreciated!

I'm glad that I found this thread as I was going to start a new post on the cup hold lid. All along when I was following the stinger, I saw this version of the cup holder - with a close-able lid. It makes a HUGE difference in terms of aesthetics. Every time I look at at the console, those two big "black holes" are staring at me, screaming cost cutting and cheap. The Stinger is supposed to compete with the established luxury brands. Why cut corners on small things that make a big difference!!

@CrisX...

1. Think of all the weight savings... With that cup holder lid, the Stinger would hardly be considered a performance car. And imagine what would happen to the fuel mileage estimates - down the tubes.

2. Installing the cup holder covers would eat into profits and literally destroy and possibility of research and development funds moving forward. If you want a second generation Stinger - or even a midcycle refresh, please, let's leave the cup holders off. There's no way Kia could actually make a profit with them on.

3. Every Kia comes with various booklets and sets of paperwork. It's easy enough to cut and paint one of those to the same color of your interior and neatly place it over the cup holder holes.

See? When you think about it, there's very little to be desired when you think about it...

Hi.

Hi do you have a diagram of the heater pipes inside car as some owners are saying they have issues?

Hi.
What heater pipes do you mean?
The air channels for the rear seats?
The heatexchanger for the clima is behind the glovebox.
There is nothing of it in the middletunnel...

Hi Tt26, the dealer called it the "Heater core pipe" it circulates hot radiator water from the engine in the pipe from the engine bay into the cabin and back. I assume it acts as part of the heater? It should be insulated. It appears to be about 12mm in diameter.

I have to ask next week when I am back in Switzerland.
But I can not imagine that pipes are there.
The only KIA with pipes in the room is the Carnival aka Rondo.
Because there is a second heat exchanger for second and third seatrow...
Maybe it is used for 3 zone clima.
In the Amanti you have to start the passenger clima manually by a button in the front climasystem...
At the stinger it works all the time...
What is actually set on the rotary wheel in the second row?
If it is set to hot and the nozzles are open you heat the cabin without automatic...

Do we know which markets get the covered cup holder? Or can anybody get a price directly from Kia South Korea for the 2 parts?
