Could it be my spark plugs? Are they old?

So today and yesterday I was noticing that my car felt like it wanted to stall when I was slowing down to a stop light right after turning on the car. Car sounded like it wanted to turn off and then jolted when the engine started to move some more. Not sure if it could be my spark plugs or what exactly. Any tips?

What I did “turned on my car. Put it in sport. Started driving. Almost immediately I hit a stop sign. I slow down! Then my car sounds like it wants to shut off and it jolts. I start driving more then the car seems fine but randomly does it after”

Sound like that may be the culprit. You can run a OBD scanner and see what’s going on…

Any codes?

Any codes?
I had them fuel sensor code not to long ago but that mainly popped up when I had my jb4 installed. I haven’t had it installed on my car for a bit now. Also it mainly does it when my auto off and on button is on so I’ve been turning that off

I started my car this morning. Cold start and started driving right away. Turned off the auto on and off. Had no problems so I’m not sure it does it very randomly

You didn't say how many miles you have on your Stinger. My dealer told me that at 45K miles, Kia recommends replacing the plugs. That was because I was in for the c. 45K miles service: someone on here researched that, and came up with the actual recommendation at 42K miles (which obviously had passed me since my previous oil change c. 4K miles ago).

Subject asks if your spark plugs may be old - - but you didn't say how many KM's are on the vehicle?

No harm in replacing them - even if they are not due. They are likely the cheapest solution and even if it doesn't resolve the issue - you will have new spark plugs

I bought my car with 38,000 miles and now I currently have 57,000 miles. I replaced the plugs right when I got the car

"Cheapest", not likely. My spark plugs cost $20 apiece and with labor it cost c. $410; it was a three hour job. If you do it yourself and buy your own plugs, of course, it can be a fraction of that cost.

Did you make sure and put in top grade plugs? I was warned not to get plugs on Amazon, as fake plugs abound (pretending to be NGK et al., and being Chinese knockoffs).

Yeah I made sure I got good ones. The spark plugs is only a guess. I personally don’t know what else would cause my car to have the troubles it is having

Little update: when I turn off my car! Right when it finally shuts off I hear a squeak coming from the engine bay. No idea what it is but seems to be running normal right now

Without hearing a video or something - this is nearly impossible to comment on with any accuracy.

True - very true.

Cheapest IF you are both comfortable and equipped with tools to change them yourself.

A couple of YouTube videos will help educate so you can change the spark plugs in less than an hour. Not too much extra on the tools. I’ve changed em twice on mine and once on a buddy’s Stinger. Gets easier the more you do em.

Can i post video on here?

And yeah they aren’t old but I personally don’t know what else it would be besides that. And yeah I can just change them myself I thankfully got all the tools a mf could need

Update: stopped doing it. So I have no idea what happened lol

another update: finally got an engine code this morning. I have set up an appointment with Kia for this Friday! engine code is : P2180.
ANY THOUGHTS?

Do you use octane boosters?
