Just curious if anybody can recommend an air compressor for cleaning out a car and pumping up tires. Was at my dad‘s house, he had a 2 hp craftsman he bought about 25 years ago worked great on detailing his SL 55 AMG having a hard time finding the same one as it’s 25 years old .Would also love one that comes with attachments, airgun, tire gauge and tire filler. Any recommendations

I wouldn't recommend or dissuade what I have. Got it at Lowe's or Home Depot, can't remember which. There are so many to choose from. Get one that has good HP, that's the essential. Mine is a Briggs and Stratton, 1.5 HP, max 150 psi, 6 gallon. Sure is a noisy beggar. I think more HP would be better but it does the job. I only have two attachments, tire inflator and pistol grip air "gun", for blowing out the exhaust stubs/diffuser and wheels/brakes. Ima not aware of any compressor that comes with tools. IIRC, even the pneumatic yellow coil hose had to be purchased separately.

When I use that air gun, I put on my noise reducers, believe it. I "shoot" air at 120 psi+.

Thanks for the reply. I’m looking for something that is much more powerful that can blow off dust inside the car, lugnuts on wheels , and also pump up the tires

I have a porter cable pancake tank compressor. I think the craftsman sold at Lowes is basically the same thing.

It's adequate for filling tires and taking wheels off. This was a handme down. If I was buying new, I'd buy at least a 25gal and something with a more powerful motor as recovery takes a while. Or even a 12gal with a more powerful motor.

I have 2 hoses for it, a coiled plastic one, and a rubber one. The latter has a larger ID so can move more volume of air per unit time. That's the one I use with the impact to get wheels off. The coiled one is sufficient for pumping up tires but useless for taking wheels off.
