Completely Distraught!

No idea if front collision warning activated. I was more focused on the fact that someone made an illegal left turn directly in front of me with not so much as a signal indicating her intention. Secondly, after driving the car for more than 30 minutes, and feeling sure of its integrity, I drove it a higher speeds to gather any data I could so I could give the body shop as many details as possible. Finally, since you are obviously a crack detective, maybe you could tell me why my airbag didn’t deploy if your sure speed was a factor? PS. Is 80 MPH fast? You should drive on LA freeway’s

Dang, that's painful to look at. Hopefully everyone is ok and the car gets fixed right! best of luck!

One more thing ,don't sign anything from the other party's insurance company .

Glad to hear you are ok.
I learned that after an accident, especially if it was not your fault, to ALWAYS go to the hospital and have them check you over just to be safe.

I was rear-ended back in the mid-90s in my 1979 Camaro at about 65 MPH on I-70 just outside of Columbus Ohio. I was at a stop sitting in traffic when this van came hauling down the road and ran into me. Chain reaction involving 5 cars. She said she never saw that the cars in front of her were stopped. Anyway, I walked (limped) away from the accident, no real injuries, but listening to a responding officer's advice, I went to the hospital. Good thing I did, cause when it came to the lady's insurance company (I think it was Geico) I would have been screwed if I had not been seen by a doctor.

They wanted to give me less than $1000 for the car, they keep the car and that was it. No medical bills, no comp in any other form. When I told them I was hurt, had whip lash for a week (which I did, it was bad) and said I was not happy and will talk to a lawyer, they then turned and asked what it will take to make me happy.

I am so glad I listened (I almost didn't) and went to the hospital.
It took $3000 for my car, I keep the car and they pay my medical bills.

Heartbreaking to see. Agree with Luminary, get checked out even if you feel fine. Just having a record of the visit could make a huge difference down the road..

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Man......heartbreaking. Glad to hear you are ok. This is where you want to 1) Have a very good insurance agent and 2) Have a very good insurance carrier. Both can be very helpful in settling a claim. My only question......As KIA told us in Stinger training the RED and Blue are a very specific paint process. I'd like to see how this accomplished and is it satisfactory when a repair is involved? We have to have a 2017 VW Beetle repainted on a rear quarter panel due to damage. Matched all paint codes. Completely off. what I found out is that car could actually be 4 shades of red. It was painted 3 times before we felt it was an acceptable match.

. . . when it came to the lady's insurance company . . . I would have been screwed if I had not been seen by a doctor.
Excellent advice! Last August, I was being driven home by a rental car rep after I dropped off a car, and he made an illegal left into the opposing lane of traffic--fortunately they were just starting up from a red light, but the SUV that hit the Focus we were in had to be taken away on a flatbed. Out of excessive caution, I went to my doctor that afternoon, and she also advised, even if you feel perfect, document it, since you don't know what problems will show up in a few days, plus any self-respecting insurance company will challenge a claim if you don't have proof of seeing a doctor. [I was lucky: My back actually felt better for a while after the accident, since it probably undid the effects of having driven 100+ miles in a base model Corolla with a sprung suspension the previous day. Never rent a car in California that has Arkansas plates. I think the Joads were that previous renters.]

Take care of yourself, and keep us updated on what happens with your car.
