I dropped some stuff off at the electronics recycling center today, and the guy who helped me unload couldn't stop staring at my Stinger. I didn't say anything, just enjoyed watching his reaction. It looked like his mind was having a battle between car-lust and bewilderment. As we were finishing, he finally said that he hadn't seen a Stinger before, didn't know KIA made a car like that. Then he told me he REALLY likes the way it looks. His was the most sincere and enthusiastic comment I've gotten so far. Made me feel like a lucky SOB.

Anyone else care to share notable comments you've received about your Stinger? Can be compliments, surprised/confused reactions, specific observations, funny remarks or any other kinds of comments.

The Stinger definitely seems to capture peoples' attention. So it might be fun to hear what kinds of crazy feedback other proud new owners are receiving.

Had a week old Deep Blue 2018 Corvette StingRay pull up beside my California Red Stinger GT2 in the mall parking lot ask "me what the hell I was driving", the rear end look with the quad pipes caught him off guard. He had a look inside and we discussed cost and what she had for features. He was just amazed by the car, and by who made it. Mind you the StingRay was hot as hell also.... but its in a league of its own. I have had more compliments in the 4 days of owning this car but the look on this guys face was just priceless.

actually had a driver run up alongside me and yell out his window while i was cruising at 80 to tell me that its funny that i tired to camouflage my maserati with a kia badge. then gave me a knowing nod and a thumbs up. i am moving to the mountains to get as far away as possible from people. and that is not to be outdone by a visiting line cook, looking to transfer to work for me, came into the restaurant and proceeded to call the owner of the bright yellow thing out there an a-hole and a stuck up s.o.b. obviously you know how that ended, being that, technically, i would become his boss if i okayed the transfer.

Two weeks ago I pull into a gas station with my Mirco Blue GT and a guy in a Dodge Challenger pumping gas next to me walk over and say, "Damn it look way better then seeing on TV." I give him a quick spec of my car and he was walking around checking out the exterior of the car. Right before I was about to leave I told him, the best part about this car is the company offer the 20yrs/200,000 miles powertrain warranty. I took a quick look back at him and his eye ball was big and his mouth drop.

A saw a guy following me in a Mercedes taking pictures or videos on his cell phone and he drove past then slowed down to get different angles.

At my daughter's elementary car pool the PE coach was directing traffic and he stopped to give me the thumbs up - and the car pool is full of Audi's, Merc's, BMW's, etc.

Granted mine is just a silver 2.0, I can imagine yellow and red GT's getting all kinds of attention.

Saturday, March 10, about 6:00 pm on a hotel parking lot in Plantation, FL:
Two GEICO Adjuster on their cigarette break, watching my wife and me organizing the Stinger for the return trip to Canada.
We are sitting in the car, doors open, finally, they saunter over and say:
"Nice car, what is it? We looked around, didn't see anything on the back, then the KIA badge on the hood. We thought first it was a Maserati...is thIs the KIA S.. S.. SS..." and my wife chirped in "Stinger".
Them:
Yeah, KIA Stinger.! Love the way it sits there. Love the stance. Love the clean rear end... (third time I heard that now, first was my mechanic) Looks very much like the Maserati I followed on the Interstate...
So we did a little show and tell, let them have a look inside, operated the hatch, showed the trunk, engine under the hood, They were totally impressed.
Then the $60,000. question: " How much boost are you running?" – and I had absolutely no idea. But these guys seem to know cars and made my day.

Later on in Columbia, hotel reception, a big guy walks up: "Nice car you parked out there..."
Same lot as we were getting luggage, a female soldier walks by and commented on the look of the car. Then asked what it was and how much it would cost....

My wife gets a kick out of watching other drivers looking at us, sometimes trying really hard to figure out what car they are looking at...

Enjoy your cars as we do ours.

I had two incidents today about 15 minutes apart.
Picked my Stinger up from getting the Ceramic Pro treatment at the detailer and the fellow running the place told me that the owner of the 911 in the next bay was in that morning and had asked "wow, is that the new Audi"?. Lol.
Then on the drive home from there a few moments later I had a guy in a Golf R quickly pull up next to me and give me a big smile and thumbs up. I have no idea if he knew what it was because both the Kia badge and small Stinger base were both of the rest at the time. Leaving just the GT badge.

We live at the end of a private road, so the mailman usually just drops off packages on the doorstep. Yesterday he took the time to ring the bell (Sally was parked in the driveway) and complimented the looks of her, asking what it was. First time we've ever spoken! :)

Last weekend a buddy and I went and grabbed some food late at CookOut (man I still can't get over how late they stay open lol) and since the lobby was closed we grabbed a spot in the parking lot and chilled while we ate.

The guy behind us in line swung through the parking lot and parked besides us, and couldn't keep his eyes off the car. Finally he motioned for us to roll down the windows, and asked "Man is that the new Kia? Mind if I take a look at it?" Showed him the interior and he had a walk around the car before he said "I've not seen one in person until now, but that looks great! Wish I didn't work at the Nissan dealer so I could get one!"

Made the night, lol.

I've met people I didn't even know at work asking tons of questions about the car, power, options, how does it drive, etc. I get to park right at the security gate since I have my disabled vet tag and get asked at least 3-4 times a week about it.

Numerous gas station questions from all types and ages of people, driving everything from a base model Civic to a CLA45 AMG, C63 AMG and an M5. They are always amazed that its a Kia, can't believe they made it, always comment on how awesome it looks in person, and especially everything the car comes with for the price.

My crowning moment though happened about a week ago. I had pulled up to meet a friend of mine for lunch so he could finally see the car. Parked and hopped out, we were standing there chatting and a yellow Ferrari F355 Spyder pulls in and parks in the spot right across the lot from me. Guy hops out and quickly walks over to us to ask about the car. He was coming down the road and saw mine (Sunset Yellow GT2 AWD) from a couple red lights away. He said the car looks amazing, best color choice (lol), and asked me how it drove, performance, etc. Was a REALLY cool guy, car nut like the rest of us.

Then came the best compliment, that he would put the Stinger in his garage right next to the Ferrari because of the style and looks. :D:D

These types of encounters happen almost on a daily basis, and I'm pretty sure if it wasn't yellow it wouldn't get as many looks, so I am DEFINITELY glad I held out for my SY7. Best purchase I've ever made and I love the attention she gets!:geek:

I have had multiple folks stop by and comment in parking lots, gas stations, etc. Two recent ones were some kids in what looked like a really nice highend mustang came over at a gas station and struck up a chat. They really liked the look. The second (and not to be sexist), but all the comments I have rcvd were from other guys until last wk, when a lady parked next to me at a grocery store commented, "I really like your car", a first.

I work in a building where we have lots of windows. I work in IT and we have an internal forum where information is shared and general chat on different subjects. Several people were on that board talking about my Stinger, commenting that they do daily walks in that area just so they can look at the yellow Stinger. "Beautiful car" is the most widely used comments I get.

Literally daily I get comments and looks. I drive into Manhattan every day and the garage is filled with BMWs, Audis, Maseratis, etc and every day someone is like "What the heck is that? It's beautiful!"

Or... "A Kia? Ok sure, yeah enjoy your Kia" lol

And of course the multiple thumbs ups and yells from car windows at red lights. And last week, I spotted a guy at a light behind me take his phone out and start snapping pics.

At least twice now someone has recognized it's the Stinger but then say:
Guy: "Oh you didn't want the stick version?"
Me: "Oh they don't make a stick"
Guy: "Yeah, they do."
Me: "Ok cool"
:rolleyes::p

early morning drive to the dealership to replace a scratched piece that was on back order. as i am cruising on 595 going west, had a car waaaaay behind come up fast on my rear, i switched lanes very quickly, not sure if they weren't paying attention and didn't want to get rear ended. it was an alfa romeo giulia quatrofiglio. black on black, this guy wanted to talk while doing 75. couldn't get over how great the car looked. gave me a head nod, and took off. i wasn't giving chase, not with what he was packing under the hood. but, it is cool that a 75k + car owner calls your car cool. wish i had a twin turbo v-8 under the hood.

Not to sound redundant but I've had almost the same exact reactions & comments everyone else has stated!

I'm the talk of my office and actually have taken 3 separate "field trips" with groups of employees to go check out my GT2!

I also get stopped to talk, get a thumbs up or people taking pictures everyday and I too am surrounded by Bentley's, Rolls, & Ferrari's. I've had multiple people mistake it for Maserati and a few ask if its an Aston Martin.

Gotta love the all the attention and makes me more proud of my choice every singe day!

Just FYI- I've read the 3.3T puts out about 12psi stock.

Wringing 505hp from 2.9 liters is no joke, and it's 442 lb ft are all in at 2500 rpm. That said, I'll be interested in seeing how well that little screamer holds up after a few years...

My Galaxy S8 is about the worst I have ever used. I find myself editing almost every post due to a word being misinterpreted and unnoticed until I post :( But isn't that V6 just 3/4's of a Ferrari motor?

Not sure about the Ferrari heritage...

But back to the S8...when I'm editing this post I can see that it doesn't have all the extra words present but when I post it they appear in the post. My S8 isn't inputting extra words, the forum text is inserting itself I think.
