At first this occurred whenever I go through bumps or turn the steering wheel, and the tech at the dealership found it's the airbag making contact with the steering wheel plastic trim.

They were able to reduce the clicking by adding insulation. After driving the car a bit I think it still occurs, but much less so and appears to happen randomly (although I think it tends to occur after or during turning). Has anyone ran into this? If so, were you able to fix it?

I faced the same noise with my 2018 GT, and I had Kia checked it once, and they were able to remove the sound completely, but it came back after a couple of weeks. For me, it happens mostly during turning.

they managed to reduce the noise after a few visits to the dealer. Was told they replaced a broken button, but I can still hear it (albeit a lot better now)

I had a similar problem in my 2011 Optima, but was less of a click, and more of a bump/thud. Turns out it was a bushing in the steering wheel that needed to be replaced, completed covered by warranty and they just did it while it was in for an oil change. Think I only waited 10 minutes longer than usual for the service.

What button was broken that caused this sound?

dont remember which button it was, but the noise is still there so I suspect I might have to do something like "Rattle from Inside Steering Wheel (solved)" (unable to link directly)

Yes
Every time I make a left turn I hear a clicking noise

Is this the sound? Link is to a google drive video of my wheel. It's definitely getting worse as time goes on. Of course when I took it to the dealer the sound mysteriously disappeared. I'm getting my brakes down tomorrow at a local shop I trust and asked them to take a look if they have time.
