I have a 2020 GT2. 1,200 miles on it. Owned it three weeks. I’ve taken it to the touchless car wash twice. Today I noticed the chrome trim along the roof and doors seems discolored. Has anyone else had this issue? If so what did you do to fix it? I used a wet rag w no chemicals and it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

You're not alone. My car has only been hand washed, so it hasn't happened to me, but it seems pretty common with touch-less car washes. Here's a thread on it Trim looks like crap

Mine looked worse than that, I just used rubbing compound and then polished it, looks new but did take a lot of elbow grease

I have never subjected my car to anything more "toxic" than a car wash tunnel. Maybe I got lucky at that. (Not sending her through another one; but it's risk to the wheels that finally divorced me from tunnels.) My hand washes only use distilled water, some soft water to increase it a bit above a gallon, and Optimum No Rinse. If you never use any chemicals I think that this reduces the risk of discolored chrome to a minimum.

My babe has never been though any car wash in the 20+ months I’ve owned her. Those use some pretty harsh chemicals (think touchless and what it has to do to remove dirt and bug guts) and I’ve noticed my detailing holds up MUCH better when I only wash by hand. I drove a 3.3 for the first time today and the first thing I would do would be to delete all that chrome crap.

Dealership replaced driver side trim for me when it happened. Was weird because it had been and still only hand washed. Still using same cleaning products and hasn't happened again. Dealer said it had seen this a lot, so didn't put up any fuss. May try that approach.. good luck

I thought i had a similar problem at similar miles, but it turned out to be adhesive from the pre-inspection vinyl covering. I'm still finding more and more of that around the body edges and trim lines where the stuff peeled off but left residue.

Tried this but didn't work on mine. Solution i made was using Blackout Tape from Trimbrite and now its looks good:D. Annoyed me seeing that accent trim like that.
