Heres another quick vid on an Audi vinyl conversion
I told my wife to use the door well and leave the grab handle alone. She respects that.I have a lil nick on the front passenger door grab... g/f chipped it with her jewellry. Very soft paint/plastic! Not very noticeable but i know EXACTLY where it is and it bugs me...
Thinking to get touch up paint n try... its only a very small chip.
If i knew the trim was so easy to chip, i would of said the same!!! Gutted. hahaI told my wife to use the door well and leave the grab handle alone. She respects that.![]()
This is expensive. Did you try the Sharpie silver pen?Never mind... just realised that the aluminium trim comes with the whole dash.. like here: 2018-2019 Kia Stinger Trim Assembly 84765-J5300WK | Paramount Auto
This is horrible!

Well, because we travel a lot for work and we usually also discuss stuff in the car, hence the laptop. However, the trim is really easy to touch by accident, as it stands out from the dashboard. I’ve never once chipped the aluminium trim on my VW Passat in 150 times more kilometers. I really am disappointed by this thing.
@StingaGT I am under the impresion that the part you are showing is the plastic piece that comes under the silver trim. Look closer in the car. I think now that the silver trim comes with the huge part of the dash.
I’ve also tried with a silver retouch paint but it just looked bad and quickly removed it.
While you are technically right, the fact that there are already a few of us (on this thread) with this piece of trim chipped (by accident) does raise some concern. This doesn't usually happen to a piece which is on upper part of the dash unless there is some design flaw or it's made of poor quality material. Not sure I've ever heard anyone blame a car design for damage caused by a passenger, but ok..
The mood lighting strip isn't really on the "upper part of the dash". It is in harm's way, no question. But really, any interior part is capable of being impacted by a hard or sharp object in a passenger's hands. I think the issue here, from your description, is that your friend is too close to the dash for holding a laptop. She should pull the seat back to a safe distance. Better late than never. This doesn't usually happen to a piece which is on upper part of the dash unless there is some design flaw or it's made of poor quality material.
