Hi guys,

I have a Kia Stinger GT2 2018 (11.1k miles) for a year and a few months now, haven't really had an issue until...a few moments ago.

So everything was going fine on my drive on the highway until I noticed the check engine light came on, then I noticed I had issue accelerating or putting power, it could go up to 60-65mph but slowly rather than the usual. After I got off the highway and was waiting for the traffic light, I noticed my car vibrating really intensely.

Any idea what's the cause? Much appreciated.

It’s still under warranty, get it to a dealer

If the check engine light has come on, not really anything you can do but take it in and they will run a diagnostic to find out the problem.

Relatively common to hear about a failed coil pack. Just had the dealer replace mine on cylinder #3 but take the car to the dealer and they'll run the diagnostic.

1984 they called me aqualung ... I'll take the 5th now.

Currently at the dealership right now. Is the diagnostic covered by warranty, the guy mentioned it might be $189.99?

Also how often are alignment needed or done? He wanted me to get that done too...for another $189.99 (so I told him, I'll get that done next time.)

You shouldn’t be paying for any diagnostic for a warranty issue.

Alignment is on you. But that price is Appalling. Mine was $89 and I scoffed at that.

Furthermore. Call the premium hotline and complain while standing in front of the service manager.

these asshats. Some f’n nerve trying to gouge you for a diagnostic.

Yeah that price sounded insane, so I had to push back on not getting it done.

Hmm, okay he did mention it should be covered by warranty - just a formality for if it's an issue that's outside what the warranty covers...which shouldn't be the case? Who knows.

Yup definitely caught me by surprise. Going to see what they come back with

Going back on this, I can't seem to find a definite answer but I'm currently leasing the car, does that change the warranty available?
