Hello,

Maybe someone with a similar experience can share. I am trying to figure out the issue before I take to the dealer.

I will provide 2 videos. I have the JB4 set to map 2 on these runs and when this happened. When I press down on the gas pedal the RMP will stay still and you can hear some type of exhaust pop like if the was relining or 2 stepping.

Caught it on video a couple times and then my check engine light came on. The weird part is that when I press the gas pedal the CEL would come on and when I let go of the gas the CEL wont shut off.

I got to work and I let the car on idle and the CEL was off, but the minutes I press on the gas it comes back on. The rpm on idle go up and down like like if there was some type of air leak or emission leak. I inspected my ic piping and it seems fine and checked the exhaust and it seems fine. Not sure what is the issue?

@Terry@BMS can you please take a look at both videos and offer some insight on possible causes if possible, thanks.

any relation to the meth kit you installed?

I have no idea. It happened the same day the meth was installed. Meth was installed yesterday and I noticed the issue and didn't record. Today I took the videos and CEL came on. The crazy part is that I was not running Map 8 so I am not sure. I was running map 2.

To be honest I have no idea if there is a connection.

id try and remove the nozzle adapter installed for the meth kit on the charge pipe. Reinstall the sensor direct like stock and see if goes away.

I will try that, feels like the car is misfiring.

I have a log in my email but don't know how to post logs.

I email it to myself - save as it from the email - and then upload it here "upload a file".

Sounds like meth in the exhaust pipes maybe. If the meth ignites form the heat in the exhaust, it could damage your exhaust or sensors. Just a guess.

LOL "melted something" That shit sounds scary.

I'm just throwing it up - it could be anything. Sorry my man - Ive been having oscillations in just adding an intake and it's scaring me enough. Hopefully whatever it is, its cheap and easy.

I hope you are right and its nothing bad. I hope its bad plugs and that the engine was not damaged.

I have an update guys.
Got 2 codes. Misfire cylinder 2 and 6. Took off the spark plugs to inspect.

Not sure how to tell if the coil or spark plugs are bad.

Yikes! So much for gapped plugs. I really hope the Ecu tunes come quick.

I know this much I had bad plugs or the coil pack is bad. They could both be bad.

You going to change the plugs and coils or try to warrantee it? I'm thinking from how bad it sounded the coils are cooked.

I ordered new sparg plugs 2 step colder the denso IKH27. I will install all the new plugs and see what happens. If it still misfired then I am screwed the coil are bad. I will then probably warranty it. I had 1 step colder plugs.

So quick update. I changed the spark plugs on cylinder 2 and 6 with the oem plugs that I still had. Test drove the car and did some minor pulls and didn't feel any misfire and no check engine light. I will do some more testing tomorrow and if no issues arise then my spark plugs were bad and my coils are still good. I am hoping my coils are still good.

My conclusion is that this was caused by the increased boost pressure. Just yesterday I finished installing my WMI kit and did a couple of WOT passes on map 8. After the second pass i went to map 2 and that was when I noticed the misfiring. Maybe it was coincidence but I doubt it. I only have taken my car once to the track this year and I always drive the car on map 0 for the most part. I only have 12k miles on the car and I installed the Denso 1 step colder about 3k miles or so when I got the JB4.

I will be installing the denso 2 step colder plugs and see if that resolves the issue.

Angel think about it....did you run the meth ? You didn't have problemos until you started installing the meth....and we all know what a blue mess you made of that :)...so long story short...just installing new plugs 2 ranges colder might just only mask the real problem or give you new problems on those cylinders ..... take a step back at what has transpired the last couple of days...and go from there :)Wash

what was the installed gap of the Densos ...and what is the gap on those two plugs now (2/6)?
any cracks on the outsides of the plugs?

Agree, but the problem didn't start when I was installing the meth, the problem started when I test drove the car after I installed the meth. After I got done installing the meth kit I went to do some pulls and get some logs to make sure everything was running properly.

I did to WOT pulls on Map 8, and the runs were solid no misfiring. I think the increased boost pressure damaged the spark plugs and possibly the coils. After my 2 pulls, I switched to map 2 to get some logs on map 2 to compare them. When I did the first pull on map 2 that is when the misfire started.

I drove home. This morning on way to work I did a couple pulls on map 0 and that is when I took the videos that I posted here. The CEL came on and the misfiring got worse.

After work today I took the car to my mechanic and he scanned it and 2 codes came up for misfire on cylinder 2 and 6.

I then switched those 2 plugs with the oem ones and went for a test drive and have not seen any signs of misfire yet. I am hoping the plugs are bad and my coils are good.

I ordered plugs 2 step colder and I will be installing all 6 of them.

Let see what happens. If that doesn't fix the issue then my coils are bad. and I am taking it to the dealer.
