Good find. The video definitely helped me when I changed my wife’s rotors on her RDX last year.

South Main Auto on YouTube used an air hammer/chisel to do the same thing, Great advice.

Awesome!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I stripped one of those screws using an electric driver. Had to drill it out and ordered some stainless screws off ebay.

AKM Hand Manual Reversible Impact Driver Set Extractor-12 PCS Impact Screwdriver S2 Steel Much More Durable Disengage Rusted Fasteners or Frozen Bolts (1/2")
Can use these for rotor screws as well never failed
Turn then hit w hammer a few times at most usually works

I'm planning to upgrade the brake setup on my car soon with new front and rear pads, rotors, and RBF-600 fluid. Work is currently on hold due to a backorder on rear pads seemingly everywhere (EBC Yellowstuff to be specific).

Regardless, I am going to do everything I can not bang on the set screw like a freaking chimp. I hope this guy has a replacement screw or just doesn't give AF about putting it back in when he's done. Penetrating fluid and some patience is what I'll try first. Also, probably helps that my car has never seen snow or salt.

When I did it.

spray with WD40

give it one hit then remove screw.

I live in northeast so rust is the norm w all the salt
Impact driver and a light hammer strike while turning it the way you want to go loosens it
That is what mechanics use and no you don't bang on it like a chimp
And no it won't damage anything

This is a great tool for removing rotor screws. It eliminates stripping the head in addition to applying an impact force.

I use the same technique for motorcycle rotor screws that really get stuck on there.
A good bit of heat, some smacks with a hammer and the hammer impact driver.

These screws came out relatively easy. 9E4986F5-E11B-4515-A9D2-04598B54D5EE.webp6B2A971D-82DF-4CCA-8EAF-18F2D1B007A8.webp

EBC Brakes would like to apologise for it’s non supply of front and rear pads for the Stinger of late, some are being airfreighted to the USA in ten days time in Red and Yellow for fast street and some of the Blue NDX trackday pads are also due.

The race pads in RP-1 and RP-X will soon be added to the pad line up for the stinger, due in 45 days.

Thank you
