Creates thread.

"Who did you do in your Stinger today?"

:D:cool::sneaky:

Eh? Air Force One is refueled while in the air, and many other large aircraft intended to stay in the air for extended periods of time are refueled while flying...

Of course, they're DESIGNED to be able to do that and cars are not. Especially considering a CEL is thrown if the gas cap is loose and pressurization isn't achieved when the fuel pump is pulling fuel. Of course, as some people know, this is not immediate: the fuel pump draws so little fuel at a time that it takes about 4-5 miles before the system notices the pressure in the tank isn't right. So for those wondering why it doesn't happen while at idle, the fuel pump is sipping so little fuel during that short span of time that the loss of pressurization isn't outside of normal parameters, yet.
Im not talking about military air to air refuelling. Planes on the ground only.

Back in the late 80s, I had an incentive flight on a KC-135 for an in-air refueling of an SR-71. I was in the boom pit when it all happened. AWESOME!
I was a Crew Chief on A-7Ds and KC-135s. Got to lay in the boom pod during a night refueling of the Stealth Fighter over the desert southwest. It was a very Star Wars moment!

Wow, really glad to see my fellow veterans represented here with a strong presence from the military aviation community.

Wow! I sure would like to have a beer with you boys and hear your stories! I never served, but have always been a military aviation buff. I grew up about 40 mi from a SAC base - the old KI Sawyer (my dad worked there in the winter plowing snow). They used to do nap-of-the-earth training around a big microwave tower near our house as a way-point. B-52's and occasionally a KC-135 tanker right on their tail at maybe 1000ft(?). And, they had an F106 Delta Dart interceptor squadron there. We'd see them too. Awesome sites! Made a kid feel safe at the height of the Cold War! BTW: Thank you for your service!

I’ll continue as I have thanks.
You may not mind blowing yourself up, but could we ask please that you consider the safety of OTHERS around you since the rest of us want to live? Thank you.

Has anyone else experienced this when your car is being filled up with gas? I always put 93 octane in and while the car is being filled up the entire engine shudders for about 1-2 seconds. It happens frequently and at various gas stations. No other issues with the car. Just curious if anyone else experienced this.
To avoid being me I'll say this. That behavior is not becoming of a stinger owner... go buy a BMW if you wanna play with gas. Also it shudders because the gas cap is off and the fuel isn't getting pressurised enough for you pump in the tank. P.s. I have read nothing but OP post so ignore me if I am repeating someone else.

I don't know... I think the last place I would want to be when the nukes go off is near an airforce base!

No worries, your proximity to Huntsville will take care of that. Lots of "gee-whiz" stiff going on up there.

I think this thread has served its purpose.
