So may have f&*%ed up here, as soon as I started the car it started shaking with the tuner hooked up. I tried using the app but it was locked out. I unplugged the tuner and the car is still shaking. How f&*%ed am I?

Oh great! LOL. Mine shows up tomorrow.... I'm sure its a loose connection, one of the connections didn't fully seat or something simple. By "Unplugging" your tuner what exactly did you unplug? Did you reconnect all the factory connections back?

Everything is plugged back in correctly, I think the car is in limp mode now, I scanned the codes and got cylinder misfires on 2 & 4. Going to try and clear codes and hopefully get car out of limp mode

What about gapping the plugs? Made sure to torque them properly so they are seated well?

Plugs were gapped, will try and reseat plugs today. Problem is we test the car before installing JB4 but after plugs and everything seemed fine

Email BMS, directly. They are incredibly helpfu

Ok so it sounds like you may need to update your device. You may not have updated properly or completely. try updating to version 17 and go from there

How do I update it without the app? I don’t think I have the cable to connect it to a computer

Shaking doesn't tell me much. Are there fault codes? If so what codes?

That is so weird. You just started the car and already misfired? You haven't run the car WOT yet, right?

Here are the codes I’m receiving

I’m betting something is wrong with how the connectors are seated with the sensors under the hood. I’d check those first to make sure the JB4 is installed correctly.

I would then update the firmware to the latest version.

After removing the the JB4 there are still errors, we removed the 2 spark plugs that were misfiring and looks like a lot of carbon build up. Is there a checklist to go over and look

  • Did you separate the coil packs?
  • Did you remove the intake manifold to to the plugs?
  • Did you torque the spark plugs properly?
  • What did you gap the plugs at?
  • Did you ensure that the connections are plugged in correctly?
  • Did you open the JB4 enclosure? If so, any pinched wires/chipsets or did you get it closed back up nicely?
edit: I see you bought a used one....that adds another layer of questions...

I'd guess the issue is related to the plug install, something is loose, coil wires mixed up, etc.
