Car is hot even an hour after being turned off?

Is this normal for the stinger? I put my hand near the tigernose grille in the front and i can feel the heat. I can even feel heat coming from the hood.

yes it is normal, it's all based on outside temperature and length of the drive, but normally a car requires more than an hour to completely cool off.

Yes, normal. When I changed my spark plugs I waited a couple hours and the engine was still hot to the touch so waited another couple hours.

I never noticed until I went to wash my car right after getting home. Hot alright. I had to renew the water on the hood before drying it or else the evaporating water left a grungy patina. And besides, this car is HOT.

Welcome to the world of high horsepower and high heat. Most gasoline engines have about about 25-30% thermal efficiency. Which means a large majority of the energy of the gasoline that runs through is wasted through frictional losses and released as heat. Every component under the hood will have heatsoaked during the drive and since most of it is a large chunk of metal and fluids that can absorb lots of heat (coolant, oil 7.9 quarts of it) depending on how long you were driving and ambient Temps, it's going to take a good while for it to dissapate.

That means its functioning as per Kia Hyundai 3.3TT V6 design. It is suppose to maintain a slower rate of cooling so it minimizes engine damage due to cold start as majority of engine damage is due to slower oil flow when engine oil is cold. Rather have the engine cool down slower than risking engine wear due to stop start driving.

It does mention specifically “keeping as warm as possible” in part of the article. Most manufacturers like the top 3 mass market premium brands are doing it too.
