I have a 2018 Kia Stinger that I could not be happier with. It is just simply the best car I have ever owned for so many reasons. And I have owned a lot of cars !
My only complaint is with the Bluetooth system. I can hear people perfectly on it, but no one can hear me clearly. I have taken to wearing earbuds and talking on them which is way more distracting than you would think it would be. I have tried disconnecting it and reconnecting it. I use apple car play and have no issues on my end, just loads of complaints and lots of what did you say ? And confused silence when I realize people are just tired of saying “what??”

Howdy and welcome. I echo your sentiments about the Stinger. :) Can't help with the issue: I only answer incoming calls and seldom make a call from my car: nobody has ever complained about having difficulties hearing me (aside from the usual, expected spottiness of cellphone usage).

welcome... something seems to be amiss, as no one has complained about not being able to hear me either over bt... if a reset of the system doesn't work perhaps it's a defective mic or something

I would see if there is any difference between bluetooth straight to car radio system, vs with apple carplay.
If you have the same problems with both then I agree with viperboy2000, reset radio, test again, and then look into if mic is defective.

Thank you for the suggestion , I will look into replacing the mic.

Glad to hear you are loving the Stinger. I love mine too. The majority of my travel time is spent on the phone. I have a catback exhaust plus secondary downpipes and I still have no problems with anyone being able to hear me. On occasion, if I step on it, the person on the other end of the line will be able to hear the exhaust but that is about it. I would definitely get things checked as this is not a normal issue.

Both my wife and I have issues with call quality when using CarPlay in the Stinger and Telluride. Audio quality into the car is fine, but I have found and I’ve had complaints my voice sounds choppy on the other end of the line. I always drive using car play (Waze + Pandora), so I’m not sure if the issue persists over Bluetooth audio without using CarPlay.

What is your microphone sensitivity set to? It is adjustable on the center display during a call. (depending on which trim you have I suppose)

Thank you all for your help. I now figured out that in Bluetooth people can hear me fine and was able to adjust the volume as shown. With apple CarPlay , which requires me to use the USB port, an echo is created where people are hearing themselves talk. I am not sure if there is a remedy for this?

That sounds like somehow the phone is picking up the voices coming from the car speakers and retransmitting.
