I’m in Komifornia, I know, I know I know. I’m looking for a cold air intake that is legal here. I seen them for mustangs and fords, they are carb approved, but none for the Stinger. I’m pretty pissed about that! I’ve heard put one in than just take it out, but seriously, This is driving me bat shit crazy! Any serious information is appreciated.

It takes 15 minutes to install or remove intakes. Man up.

get some drop in k and ns

Injen had been working on getting theirs CARB approved. Don’t think they got anywhere. If you want something that might look OEM, Stillens intake looks OEM, or I just went with panel filters.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Doesn't the BMS intake use the lower half of the OEM box? Should be a 10 minute swap.

Have AEM on my car. On the off chance I need to get smogged again since my area doesn't require it outside of original registration, I'd just remove it since I kept the OEM

Get snorkels and k&n drop ins. I'm not entirely convinced the cold air intakes on the market actually do anything better than the stock system maybe outside of johnny tigs. I had AEM cold air intakes on and pulls were definetely lack luster, went back to stock and pulls were hard again.

What have the snorkels done for you?

i actually lost .3 seconds at the drag strip with cai on a stock car

Just do the drop ins. No aftermarket carb approved intake yet.

I agree with not doing a CAI unless you're doing a drop down and are getting sufficient cold air. If you don't plan to do that, I don't think it's worth the money since there's a lot of hot air circulating in the engine bay because of its poor ventilation. I suggest doing the drop in k&n filter!

*laughs in unregistered stinger* I am also in cali, and have had zero problems with my JTs. Then again, I didn't do smog nor do I plan to. And if I did have to, I know a guy that would pass me with an open turbo for an intake.

I often joking say that some mods should come with a HP warning, "This product may decrease your HP after installation", and the cai I see are not sealed correctly and it is easy to get a dyno run with the bonet up to say anything the seller wants.

Is this for SMOG purposes? You don't have to SMOG the car until it's 8 years old. I swapped DP / TMIC on my Legacy GT every 2 years for smog - intakes shouldn't be that bad.

Or are you worried your dealer will report you? Are you getting pulled over every couple of weeks?
