Co worker has a base model 3 wants to race for $100. Theyre rated at 296hp but idk since it's electric. Ive only got intake, exhaust and downpipes if that helps

actual base rwd only? yes for sure people consistently get around 4.99 to 5.2 to 60 in the rwd ones. with 13.4-6 ish 1/4 mile times. as long as you can hook or have awd..

then you will beat a base model 3

good luck

get that money

Well, depends a LITTLE. I.e. launch mode is notoriously slow, so if you're doing 0-30 or stoplight to some fixed point that's not far away, you might not have time to catch him.

I had a Legacy GT wagon (AWD, auto with a bunch of mods) and I was even with a model 3 until 2nd gear hit, then I began to pull away (torque multiplication FTW!). However, I could launch faster in the LGT (first 10-20 feet) than the Stinger.

With a jb4, it won't even be close.

Maybe a base model 3 but not much else. I just went to the street legal drags last week at Sacramento Raceway Park, and there were at least 3 Tesla's there (model S and model X), and they were all turning mid 11's.

Oh sure, model S and X are higher performance. Eespecially those going to the drag strip - probably not base S/X models.

From my experience (coworker has a dual motor 3) it will leave yah in the dust up to about 100 then you can reel him in quicky his is awd my car is awd so a rwd rwd may seem the same

That would take like a mile, no? A decently fast car in the 1/4 will be trapping 100-ish, so you'd have to go quite a bit further to "reel them in"?

Also the rwd model 3 is down on power quite a bit vs the dual motor

The only question that really matters is what’s the distance of the race? If it’s between some lights, you’re toast. If you’re AWD and he’s RWD Model 3 Base, in 1/4 mile you can probably clip him at the line. If he’s in a RWD LR or Midrange Model 3 (2017-2018) you will lose since those had larger batteries. Any other trim Model 3 you will definitely lose. If you’re racing over a mile, which is unlikely, you will reel him in mid triple digits, but you're not likely racing to top speed so tbays irrelevant. The thing about most Model 3s, with the exception of the dual motor versions, is that you don’t know what trim he has unless you see his system screen that states the configuration.

True .. also just make sure they are low on charge tell them they will have less weight

Enjoy it while it lasts (YouTube links become inoperative); Search "Classic TV Commercial: Toyota versus the Green Monster!"

You may lose, but you got the better looking car. My opinion, those 3's are fugly! Everytime I see one...I say "fuuuuuggggly" and puke a little inside my mouth.

Not sure I can agree 100% with this - my modified LGT (which was slower than the Stinger) was even with a Model 3 through 1st gear several times, and then in 2nd I started to pull away.

Mind you, the LGT didn't have any nannies, but I wasn't super-aggressively torque-braking either, just a little. Stock LC will put you at a big disadvantage, that's true, and maybe you're factoring that in? Once moving, I would expect the Stinger to gain, not lose on a base model 3. I found 1/4 mile for base model 3 is 13.6 - most stock Stingers should be able to do that.

Not a Tesla, but another EV. My step dad is the kind of guy that can never let me have anything better or faster than him. He has a Chevy Bolt and he's convinced it's faster than my Stinger, he says he took it to a track and it was faster than Mustangs and Camaros and I just rolled my eyes. He asked what the 0-60 time was on the Stinger and when I told him he got this shocked look and then claimed the Bolt's 0-60 is 4 seconds which is easily disprovable considering we all have smartphones, but I didn't think it was worth it since he can't ever be wrong. He said we were going to race but mysteriously never challenged me.

gah... i know people like that.... it's so frustrating cause these people won't change their mind regardless of proven facts so it's pointless to even argue ...
