• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

I’m starting to look at buying a Stinger GT.
Still weighing up used vs a new one.
If I go used, anything I need to be aware of?
I know there’s been one or two updates since release.

Hi I see you've been a member seen April 2017 that makes you one of the first few forum members, but only posted 3 times. How did you resist? Lol.

Used Stingers, look out for internal abnormal rattles especially if the sunroof squeaks or rattles, around the headlights look for paint flakes. If purchasing yellow make sure its had its recall respray.

Touch wood I have had no real issues like most others.

Could you put your location in as it helps. It's in with your Avatar.

Yes, I have been around since the beginning. It has been a difficult time. Lol. Just my work situation and a few other things put the brakes on my purchase.

Done.

Thanks for the advice on sunroofs and the issues with the yellow paint and the recall.

There's nothing like the smell and satisfaction of a new one if it's within your budget.
If "used" I would first look at a demo as it's less likely to have been abused, failing that "let the buyer beware". Having said that, with the remainder of a 7 year warranty I can't imagine too many issues with a late model low km used - perhaps get your local motoring organisation to check it over, or have @AV8R cast an eye. I think the used market in Perth may be limited though.

Funnily enough the other day I was looking at car sales.com and was surprised there were a few W.A. Stingers for sale. There was a couple of yellow ones on there to.

Yes been watching Carsales pretty closely, seems a fair few more cars are appearing lately.

What colour were you thinking? Orange is now available.

I know I am bias, but I like the red better. I do like the new orange colour which wasn't available when I ordered mine. My second choice would have been the ceramic silver. Just feel a GT car like the Stinger needs a colour that makes it stand out. Each to their own though.

Just signed the contract on a MY18 Red demo.
Can’t wait. Thanks for the advice and feedback guys.

Very good! How may Kms does it have? Everything looks and sounds "perfect"?

Well I picked up my Stinger today, I’m in regional WA so had to drive 1200kms to collect it from Perth.
I hadn’t even seen the car until this morning, been driving it all day, I’m totally blown away by it.
Tomorrow will be a 1200kms drive home to really bond with the car.

Congrats on your purchase. Nice long drive home to get to know your new car.

Now that's commitment! You should have stopped at @AV8R place whilst in Perth for some Stinger wisdom + Mesh and a hat:D.

Congratulations on your new ride, the car is a joy to drive long distances & at least by racking up 1200kms this quickly will highlight any issues if any before your 3000kms free check up.

Well after the 1200kms familiarisation trip home I can report this is easily the best car I’ve owned. To put that into perspective, I’ve owned HSVs, fast Holden’s and Fords, BMWs and Mercs to name a few, this car is amazing. I traded in a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT which was the fastest car I’d ever owned, the Stinger at least matches this (minus the Hemi sound) and is an easier more enjoyable GT over a long distance. I was shagged after the trip down, but the return I felt like I’d driven a far shorter distance. Used 14.5l/100km down and 7.6l/100kms back, a very nice fuel saving.

Looks like you lost the a & l from your flag.:laugh:
