Buying a piggyback... what one?

Considering what the jb4 is capable of I think it’s a amazing deal.

Gentlemen I finally hooked up the fuel wires and changed the fuel bias in the jb4 connect....ive been using map1 and the other day I put it on map2...just for a bit... GEEEEZ....okay then this gal needs some fuel wires to make everything complete....I had put 4 gals of E85 in with the 93 last week....I just got back from a lil test around the hood with the fuel wires hooked up and on map2...OH MY Gosh.....I gotta go take a cold shower is all I can say

Map 5 is a map already programmed. Map 6 is user adjustable. I am playing with map 6 on 8psi over stock tapering up and a slight taper down before shifting. Boost is definitely addicting and i would love to make 500+awhp someday lol

0B0CE520-ABEC-4979-9846-06CAE9256261.webp So I have it all hooked up fuel wires installed. Is there any tips you guys have for me? I entered in these settings is that all that need some to be done. I tried map 1 for a quick test and I could feel the extra power right away.

Adamdan daaamn you dont fool around do you?....lol yes you do have the right numbers in the fuel bias...put em in and save....so you just got your JB4 and you have already run the canbus thru the firewall and hooked up to obdi and got your jb4 connect working and also have already got your fuel wires hooked up....Damn...you just confirmed what people have been telling me...an old fart thats just about used up....hell i just now today got my fuel wires working...and ive had them for more than a week.....I think the fuel bias and afr's dont come into play until map2...so put that gal on map2 like I did and hold on....ha.....im jealous....you just got your stuff today?,,,and already have it balls to the wall....today? ...:) Wash

Hi, I am looking to buy the JB4, still figuring out a loophole around the CA shipping :P
Would the fuel wires increase power if I am only going to be putting in 91 octane?
Thanks!

I'm glad I found this thread, I was going to go with a racechip but after seeing this think I'll go with the JB4 - I know that these are popular in the VW world. One thing I still have to settle on though is the fuel wires, does anyone have any examples of how they routed them? From looking at the video they just looked clumsy and out of place.

They don’t look to bad here’s how mine looks.

I've been running the JB4 with the OBD connection from day one...only running map1 but totally feel the difference over stock. I feel the extra turbo psi at around 3k-3.5k and wooosh, I'm gone. that's just comfort mode too...

Lol I thought I read about folks having issues running map2 w/ less than 93 octane?! I’d have to run some octane booster to get to 93 in California

@Socalstinga I don't think that you will have problems with map2, for starters BMS is headquartered in CA, so the max pump octane is the same as yours (91) therefore the tune is optimized to work great with that octane. I don't think you will need to run octane booster.

@robz32 I just might do it when I have some time to hook it up to the data cable..didn’t get the Bluetooth

Like I said...."I" am happy with the Race Chip. There are no problems with it. For ME it is money well spent. This is my opinion, not a suggestion or comparison for what is better or worse.

Thanks for sharing your experience despite opposing wind.
I still have to get used to the American way of companies trying to bash each other. I don't understand why a company might think this is necessary when it really thinks it has a better product while beeing much cheaper.

Anyway, I appreciate all feedback and the common sense I am reading here is that RaceChip is too expensive. It will tell our management about that. I don't make the pricing, but as far as I know it is based on the production costs (superior components & Made in Germany) and the relation of development costs and expected sales quantity. The costs just have to be amortized.
Development costs were not low, because we don't throw products on the market before they are fully developed and let the customers be the guinea pigs. I know, that's very German and sometimes it slows you down.
The expected sales quantity was lower that the actual sales. The Kia Stinger is selling well in the US and apparently Stinger owners love tuning their car (I like you guys). This means there might be some room for better pricing. That's no promise. Don't forget that there already is a $100 discount on the GTS Black specifically for this forum (code: STINGER_FORUM). I'll provide an update whether I was successful, I am on your side :)

Furthermore, the GTS Black comes with 2 free reprogrammings. So, if you change your car, you get a new software for free incl. the new cable. This cuts your costs in half! If you get a third car, the price is 1/3.

So, what are other advantages of RaceChip? There are existing threads about that, so let me keep it very short. RaceChip does not mess with security systems. It utilizes the power reserves without going beyond them. We don't automatically delete check engine lights every few seconds and we don't manipulate safety relevant sensor values. We have a lot of experience (100,000 products sold per year) and know what a car can do and what is not smart in the long run. I never said that other solutions are automatically bad, they are just different. Believing that one application is the best for everyone, is a bit naive. You want to remove the rev limiter, vmax and install a bigger turbo? Please don't buy our product. Get a remap! You want a safe, high-quality and easy to use plug & play performance upgrade? Here we go...

RaceChip What it all boils down to in the end is "Supply And Demand" nothing more....nothing less :) Wash
