Hey guys had a few questions about pricing and what you think about the offer i had at the dealer. Chicago Il area.

Went to test drive a stinger and i loved it. Was planning on walking out but stayed to talk about numbers since i was curious on what they would say. Initially it was 52k otd, and changed to 43k otd after i denied it. Asked for a fully itemized price to see the true price of 43k and told them i would sign the paperwork there and get them a sale. Price ended up being slightly above at 46k otd, which i said i would have to think about. Eventually they offered 44.5, but i stayed firm on the original 43 which they didnt budge, and made me tell them i will come back after some thought.

To me 44.5, or even 46k seems incredible for an otd price

Car does have 600 miles, and we test drove it pretty hard, which i'd imagine everyone did.

I'm planning on coming back in a few days to see if i can walk out with either a black with red leather(600miles)or blue with white(200miles).

Dealer is clearly fighting hard for maximum sale. Others on the forum have MY15 GT2 for less than even what you are fighting for. OTD c. $43K is a good price, not the best. But you don't need the best, I hope.

600 miles is not a lot. Coincidentally, that is the "break in" period on a brand new Stinger. I doubt that the demo got the "break in" (gentle) treatment! (as you say) But the car is up to it, imho. If you don't see anything obviously out of sorts like paint issues, or extraneous noises, or behavior in handling, etc., I'd say the car is worth a deal at $43K; or even a bit more.

Nope. For an “new” 18... with THAT many miles. Nope nope nope.

Maybe for a 19 (which has 360 cameras, heated rear seats, and wireless charger)....

600 miles is NOT NEW. 200 is borderline. That is more than “test drive” cars. That is employee driving car on weekends used.

Seems high on a 2018 should be able to get those prices on a 2019

I say good luck with that. Yes, it does happen. But it isn't what one should realistically expect.

Yeah i would have went with a higher price for a 2018. I figured 40k before taxes/fees is a pretty good price since its 12k off msrp. Going to shop around with other dealers to see what they can do.

@Kayski The Schaumburg dealer is offering $6K off plus any lease incentives. So you can get a MY19 for that price with 15 miles on odometer.

A MY18 used as a demo should sell for much less.

43k is too high for 2018. Got mine with 145 miles on it, 41,800 otd August 2018. Leased then bought it after a month

Just asking... Why GT2? The 2019 GT will have the LSD and the safety techand you can save $$$$. Unless all the other tech is a must have for you.

@SilverNitr8
The price of the car at around 40k was without lease incentives. I was looking to finance and not lease. Still need to look into lease and buyout in Illinois/Chicago tax wise.

As for why a gt2. I like the bigger tech screens, sunroof. Vs a gt1 I’m not too sure, if the price difference was big enough I would go with a gt1.

You can find those deals on Autotrader. I found 3 under 40k, and a slew of them in the low 40s. Honestly, why not just buy a used GT for less than 30k.

No..your not finding a new gt2 under 40k that will stack additional rebates on top of a 40k gt2. Prove me wrong. Ive been lookinf within 500 mile radius for 2 months, nobody has that kind of deal.

Hey you can copy and paste, look at you go! Next, ask each of those dealers if the rebates stack with that advertised price. Ive tried almost all...those advertised price already include incentives.

@BT_STINGER I'm sorry, did you think I was talking to you? lol...

You must have won over all of those dealers with your winning personality. This thread was not to help you find a good deal, it was to answer the OP's question. You should start a new thread to win over more strangers on the Internet.

Just leased a 2018 GT2 AWD on Tuesday
Miles on car = 1,600
24 month

MSRP = 52,425
Dealer Price = 42,651 ($9,774 discount)
Lease Cash = $9,500
Fees = $999 ($650 acq fee and #349 dealer fee)
Price before trade = $34,150 (Dealer Price - Lease Cash + Fees)
Trade value = $13,500 (car max offered $11,500, so $2K higher)
*******Price with $2K higer trade ($32,150)*** this is what I feel I paid for the car
Trade applied to lease = $5,800
Trade payed back as check = $7,700
Adjusted cap cost = $28,350
Residual = $28,309
Payment = $129 a month

Current plan is to buy out early, however I may just make the payments in case I want to trade it in after two years.

Thoughts on the deal?

Thanks
