Hi Stinger fam!

I hope all of you are doing well.

I have a little "problem"

So yesterday while washing the car, I realized that a bug got stuck inside the enclosure where the brake light is. I have no clue how the bug got there since everything is pretty much sealed from the inside and I can't think of a way to get it out of there. It really bothers me seeing it there.

Is it possible to remove the frame safely without causing damage? If yes, how can I do it?

I would highly appreciate the support!

Thanks in advance!

 I nearly started this thread a month ago. I have a "stinger" in my brake light housing too. At least, I think it's a mosquito. If it has to be there it should be a mosquito.

Actually, the little corpse has shifted forward and is less noticeable now; if I had taken the pic a month ago, you'd see it down in the bottom of the housing up against the glass in plain sight.

I await any insight into how to get this panel off. Now, that makes at least two of us. Hah.

Oh, welcome to the forum, by the way.

No way hahaha. That's funny! Mine is a mosquito too and it's been quite moving around as well but now it's stuck and way more noticeable... Sigh.

I actually found a thread about it after I made this one and you were replying there lol. Another user said that it is not difficult at all to remove so I'm going to give it a go and let you know asap!

First you got to open the trunk and you'll see a black center trim piece. Supposedly it pops right out by putting your fingertips behind it and pulling. Then, you got to unscrew 4 10mm screws and unplug the wire out and done! To install it back, just go in reserve order.

Check out the pics attached!

Thanks for the welcoming mate! I'm happy to be here.

Point me to the thread. Post a link here, please.

I'm unable to post links, it won't let me.

What would be an alternative?

Type this on google and click on the first link:

Let me know what you think!

I've got a pretty large (dead) spider in one of my tail lights... IMG_2227.webp

Heh! I will be needing further instructions. Because my "black center piece" is flush (tight!) with the rubber seal all the way around. There is no way I can get my fingernails, much less fingertips, under that. And I will not be trying to cram a pry tool under the edge either, it will mark it up.
