BMS order email

Not sure if this is the correct spot, but for anyone that has ordered from BMS…

I put my order in through their website and paid through SHOP.

A little while later I get an email from Angela@bergertuning asking for pictures of my ID and credit card. There’s a link in the email that asks me to upload my ID ans CC as well as a bank statement showing pending charges? Is this normal, did anyone else get this? I have never seen anything like this or have been asked to do this with any vendor including international buys?

I was contacted by Berger directly and it’s legit in case anyone gets it. I used a 3rd party payment (SHOP) and it flags for verification.

They were prompt in contacting me and extremely nice and even refunded me part of the order as a thanks for submitting the info. So far extremely impressed and will be a repeat customer if this is the normal supper level on my first order. Plus this was all done at 8pm!

That's some crazy verification process. If they indeed wanted the ID, i'd redact the DL #, DOB, date of issue and the barcode (if one was present). For the credit card I use virtual account numbers (citibank), with set expiration dates and dollar amounts. No issues sending them an image of that.

Otherwise, about the only entity I've uploaded unsanitized images of my ID was to a bank for a trust account.

Do they accept paypal?

Not sure but when they called they basically said to redact. All they needed was an ID to match the shipping address with the ID redacted and same thing for the card, just the last 4 that matches my SHOP acct with everything else redacted.
