BMS ek1 ecu + tcu tune review !

It should be mentioned that there is work on BEF maps that calibrate boost through the ECU happening currently.
They haven't been released yet but I've been assured that if you're a customer of the current maps through KJT, you will receive a revision with full boost control for free when they become available.

I live in California. Would the EK1 affect smog? Is there a way to revert ECU back to factory when smogging?

I am also wondering this. I have to get my car smogged every 2 years in CA and am worried about them finding something if I go the EK1 route.

Leaning toward tuner if anyone knows the platform, will ask around people I trust. Always afraid buying tunes from a stranger on the internet, would prolly rather trust Burger Motorsport with the JB4 then. So guess JB4 unless I find good ECU tune here.

Yeah fuel I am aware, I only use 100 octane, should be about 93 US pump, is what I meant.

The JB4 is fairly straightforward for install and octaned needed per map. I've use the AI assistance(Grok) to teach me how to read logs a bit better, make adjustments, as sometimes it takes days for responses on any forum, which can be understandable, but the AI assistant which can read CSV files(from the JB4), which is a life saver if your running multiple logs per day. Just my 2 cents.

This is definitely a great tool ! Ai is so helpful for reading and understanding logs. Also helps compare how things are running if you start adding lots of mods or comparing them lol!

I am looking to do EK1 tune on my car but it is still under warranty. If I tune it and need to go get service. Flash back the stock and remove the battery cable. Will there still be ruminants left behind?
 
Well damn that’s a horrible answer!! Lmao!! What’s wrong with having an extra ecu and flash that one. Keep original stock.
That would potentially work ! But if you're going to get an extra ECU you might as well get a Lap3 tune at that point and have it really dialed in for your car
 
Ecu logs everything...

My scan tool tells me how many times the car has been started , how long i have driven with a CEL on and how long since i cleared the last CEL.

And this thing doesn't even scratch the surface like a dealers scantool will.

But i can read Max boost/ Max revs/ Max speed achieved etc...

It's all logged, only way to delete it is to swap with a virgin ecu and have it coded to your kilometres/ miles.
