I'm having some issues with continuing to foul / blow spark plugs with JB4 in Map 2 mode. I've had no issues for about 5 thousand miles after installing JB4 and the current mods listed below.

My current mods are:

JB4 in map 2 mode
Downpipes/ midpipes
Catback exhaust
Intake
Lozic TCU
Denso spark plugs gapped to .022

It first started when I had some misfires when using boost. It seems to drive fine when not pushing the boost too much. 2 of the plugs were fouled. They were replaced. It ran fine again but then almost immediately blew another plug. All of the plugs were replaced again, and within no time misfires started again.

I've done some reading and I've seen some suggestions to replace the coil packs, and also to use HKS plugs and possibly change the gap distance again. It seems to be an issue related to JB4, but it's confusing because it ran fine for a while, and doesn't make sense why it happens even after replacing the plugs.

Any ideas?

Where do you buy your plugs?

Where do you buy your plugs?

The first set came with the JB4 kit. The second set I got from 3rd party, so not sure where they got them from.

I'd say spend some extra money and buy HKS plugs. I've had no issues with them and I haven't read of anyone else having problems with HKS unless they're gapped incorrectly.

Are you doing the gapping and install of the plugs or are you trusting someone else to do it right?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Also get them from a reputable place. I have heard that there are a lot of fakes out there, especially if the price seems too good to be true.
I got mine from k8stinger store, no problem there. I rarely use map 2, except if I get some 100 race gas before going to the strip, since generally speaking, you can only get 91 in California. But when I do use map 2, no problem.

I had someone else do it but they are a trusted expert.
We’ve all heard the horror stories about the trusted expert/friend that has not had a clue or the experts at a Kia Store that drop the ball. Best way to know for sure is to do it yourself. If your trusted expert gave a shit you likely wouldn’t be here looking for help. If he cared or is an “expert” one would think he could find/fix the problem.
