Hey guys. So I have a new JB4, a K&N typhoon intake, and soon to install HKS plugs as well as a dual inlet catch can on my 3.3 GT2. I should feel more comfortable going up a map or 2 in the JB4, which leads me to the question of BOV's for our car. While it isn't a requirement or even truly a suggestion AFAIK to upgrade BOV's, it doesn't hurt. So my question is why would I want one vs the other? What's the big difference in what's out there?

HKS was the first tot he market and priced to match at ~$600. I now see some newer offerings that don't quit look as futuristic but are significantly cheaper. What do I lose buy going cheaper?

It is possible that I may continue to add bolt ons, change out the exhaust, bigger or different turbos, etc, so what might be good now may not be later.

If I need to make this a running list, I can so we can comment.

I tried to do a search for this to see if someone had already asked this question, but I couldn't find anything. Please delete if redundant.

Houston Pump the brakes a bit....lol.....get your JB4 running with the intake, and just leave the BOV's alone for now....they can cause more probs than they are worth....the factory BOVs are fine what are you trying to accomplish? :) Wash

True, and perhaps I used "I" too much in my post to make it sound like I was ready to start pulling parts because of my JB4. Really, its more a curiosity. But your point about the OEM ones being just fine is also a good data point. At what point, boost level, etc should people look at changing? And to which one and why?

Houston come on over to the tuning thread and 1/4 mile threads....thats where the info is....the fast stingers are running the factory BOVs.....you have a lot to do before you need to mess with em.....come on over to the tuning...we will get ya started on the right track...ive got a JB4...its awesome....ive left my exhausts alone for now......these stingers are the ultimate sleeper street car...why mess this up with a noisy exhaust? Be quiet be fast...lol :) Wash
although I am considering an SSR down pipe 30 hp with no extra noise...check em out...also the catback exhausts dont do jack for horespower.....look at all the exhausts for sale in the classifieds...beware of the dreaded "drone"

The factory BOV's work fine at these boost levels. Aftermarket BOVs are a good solution to maintain a stable boost curve and will definitely aid in avoiding any leaks or boost spikes, provided they are setup correctly.

In order for them to become a necessary upgrade you will need to be running bigger turbos and crazy amounts of boost.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
