Read manual but was a little confused.

Do the blind spot indicators in the outside mirrors trigger below 20mph?

For instance if sitting at a light or in stopped traffic do they light up when there are vehicles in your blind spot.

Manual seems to indicate they don’t activate until 20...

Thanks.

I don't have the vehicle yet, but I would be inclined to go with what the manual says.

I hope that's not accurate. A lot of times traffic moves slower than 20MPH. Other cars I have driven work below 20..

wait , I already know it works at less than 20 because when its in Reverse it will chime if someone approaches from the sides , so yes it works even when motionless

Isn't that a different system (Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning...)?

Can you please check for when the car is in drive but stopped.. or going 5-10mph? Thanks :)

Not necessarily. Rear cross path detection is different than blind spot monitoring. Uses the same sensors but functions different. At least in all the cars I have driven anyway...

The indicators do not illuminate at low speeds. I found this out almost the hard way, when needing to get around a vehicle stalled at a green light and a car was perfectly hidden to my left.

Yeah that's Rear Cross Traffic which should happen when you're in reverse. Sounds like the blind spot monitoring doesn't work at the lower speeds. I wonder why not. Too bad there's not an option to have it always on regardless of speed.

That’s really unfortunate. Maybe it’s a crutch, but I’ve had it for the past five years on my cars and find it essential in LA traffic. Really makes no sense why it works that way with all of the safety options on the car. :(

OK, I can confirm the manual got this one right; I paid attention in traffic and the light comes on at 20 mph exactly when there's someone next to you.
