Hello hive mind...
I have a US 22 GT2 in Panthera Metal. I want to take the polished fronts and make them black chrome, or black. I just don't like the polished look with the "light black" car color. Is there a reasonable way to do that? When I checked into chroming them, it looked crazy expensive, and they need the rims for a while which just isn't going to work. It seemed like it would just have been cheaper to buy new rims instead which I would be fine with too. I'm not in love with the OEM rims, and I assume someone would buy the OEM wheels.

Powder coat; takes a couple of days is all and is c. $150 per wheel. It's pretty durable stuff.

Can you just powder coat the polished faces?

I don't know the process, beyond that the wheel is stripped (sandblasted, I believe). Dip is what you'd apply to the undisturbed original wheel finish; but dip is temporary and removable.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
To powder coat them they are going to need them off, and for a wile as well, You can plasti-dip them yourself, or paint the polished front with a product like this
or darken it with the dark smoke metalcast

I'm warming up to the idea of one single powder-coated color.

Any pictures of what this looks like done? Also, does it peel off? This might be a very good option for me.

Plasti-dip does peel off... I don't have pics but lots of members have "dipped" their wheels
