I just bought a new 2023 Stinger GT2. I want to replace the chrome badges on the nose and liftgate with black chrome badges. All the ones I can find on the web are gloss black.

Does anyone know of a source of black chrome badges? Specifically, I'm looking for the block "KIA" on the nose, the script "STINGER" and the block "GT" on the liftgate.

I personally prefer how gloss blends in with glossy paint.

Thanks, especially for the picture. Where did you get the badges? How have they weathered?

The body man I showed my Stinger today said that all the OEM black trim is black chrome. That's especially noticeable on the side mirrors. The bezels around the mirror glass are black but the enclosure is black chrome.

I think gloss black is fine if I can't find black chrome.

I got them off AliExpress during an 11/11 sale. Paid 8USD and two were shipped.

They've hardly weathered. But my two year old car is a garage queen, looked after meticulously, done just 26,000kms and rarely sits in the sun for hours, so that's no surprise.

It's very good quality, solid plastic and I don't expect them to break down anyone soon with reasonable care.

Gloss Black is an option for these 2.

From stingerforum.org's forum store:

I wouldn't buy the template again. It was lightweight foam rubber that didn't keep it's shape at all. Just use masking tape to mark the edges of the emblem, remove, clean, and use the masking tape to position the new one. I heated the old one with a hair dryer first.

Waiting on the black "KIA" for the front.

Hi there. All OEM Stinger emblems come with a template at no extra charge. There are less expensive versions sold everywhere that don't come with the template, but they're made with a lesser quality ABS plastic and don't use 3M adhesive. There is no extra charge for the template. The OEM emblem is simply a better product and costs a bit more.

I kinda wouldn't mind changing my oem Stinger badge on the back for the gloss black one. I just don't know how it would look with panthera metal. Might be too dark?

I know where to

I know where to get them, I just haven't seen any on the panthera metal to know if they look good or blend in too much.
There's a picture of a Stinger in Panthera metal with the carbon fiber style version - which is pretty much as dark as the glossy black. So if you scroll through the images, you'll get an idea of what it would look like on a dark color.

Ok, thanks for the info

My opinion says that if you are going toward a "murdered" look in badges, that you need to get rid of all the bright ones. Mixing black/CF with the OEM bright GT and AWD would look a bit off. So, either remove the GT and AWD, or replace them with black ones. They're going to show up on Panthera Metal, just subtly. I would make sure the hood badge matched the rear too.

That's what kept me from adding Nightfall overlays -- I removed my AWD badge and thought about doing Kia front and Stinger rear, but wasn't sure what to do with the GT (not sure if it would look too plain without it).

On another color other than Black or Panthera, it might look "plain" to some. But to me, even a car that has been debadged entirely looks clean rather than plain. Having a black KIA up front and black Stinger over the rear plate would look slick. But if you like advertising GT and AWD, then Sal is your man, as he has just said.

All the stuff you're looking for is available in black or carbon fiber style.

Any chance of Nightfall/matte black for the Stinger and GT? The front KIA badge has vinyl overlays, but I guess for the rear Stinger lettering the badge would need replacing.

Ascot Green is dark enough that I think Nightfall badges would be very subtle, and basically disappear at night. The front KIA overlay leaves a small chrome trim around the letters so it's kind of backlit.
