• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

228km per hour in a 110 zone, kiss your Stinger goodbye for a few months at the impound and even longer before you get your licence back. No sympathy from me, f@&$%#g idiot driving at those speeds on a public road.

Like everything it depends on the context. Was the road totally clear and straight for a few miles. Or was he weaving in around traffic like an a**hole. Everyone likes to get out their gavel on the internet and make a judgement without knowing all the facts.

Doesn't matter if the road was clear, which is is because the Caulder hwy, Gap road where he was caught is downhill and an open stretch but Police haunt that road. It is illegal to do those speeds on a public road, he should have taken it to a track day it would have saved him a lot of heartache and money.

The facts are there to see 228 in 110 zone. If you look at the post from @Stinger GT SS it has the link to the actual Facebook post from Victoria Police which also includes a shot of the lidar locked in at 228. Makes no difference if the road was clear or straight, doing excess of 100km per hour over the posted speed limit is dangerous and he deserves what he gets. There’s no need for context as you put it, the law is black and white and the punishment for breaking it is clear.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Oh I agree, if you want to hit those speeds you should do it on a track. But I also know everyone is human, and when you have a car that can easily accelerate to that speed in a very short time, on a clear day on a open highway temptation can get the best of you.

The Stinger is many peoples first step into a performance car and it gathers speed really quickly. Half the time after you get on the throttle I bet you look down after 5-10 secs and are shocked at how fast you're going.

For some context I have a straight away on a road I drive all the time, it's a very quiet spot. The speed limit is 70kph. In the summer I was doing right around 70kph, it was a clear sunny day so I went full throttle for a staggering 3-4 secords... Iooked down and was doing 135kph or 65kph over the limit which here would get you into heaps of trouble. It doesn't take much with a TT v6 to get well over the posted limit. Now I can't say I've been even close to 228 with this car, but I bet it's pretty swift getting there.
