3.3TT Best intakes for the 3.3TT

Oh my how exciting another freak’in intake thread.:p:p

That had to be TIGHT. The AEM filters were a bit tight getting in

Passenger side was definitely snug, but not too bad. Driver's side, on the other hand, was VERY tight. The end of the filter is gently touching the frame. I've had them on for over 4 months and it continues to look perfect even where it's touching the frame.

I just ordered a set of AEM's.

The heat shield has nothing to do with the dyno numbers.
Think you're misunderstanding my post. If your only talking about the general design of the intake and whether it has shields or not, then yes that wont really affect dyno numbers which is why almost all our intakes make about the same gains.

However, when it comes to heat soak especially after a hard run it definitely affects power output & dyno numbers. A Stinger with shielded intakes will pull cooler air and make more power than the same car pulling hot engine/turbo air because it doesnt have shielding. Thats all I was saying, and personally know heat shielding makes a HUGE difference in power when it comes to the hot FL summers, like the OP mentioned.

Not if you have WMI

Why would a heat shield make a greater difference if the ambient temps were higher than an otherwise equal situation with cooler ambient temps?

Hello everyone!

I've been reading across multiple threads, and I wanted to gather an opinion on everyone's long term usage of their aftermarket intakes. I'm looking into getting one this year because uncle Sam is paying me back after taking too much from me.

What is the best performance gains from only the intake? (Butt dyno is a valid criteria)

What intake does best in heat? I'm in Florida and it makes a difference during the summer.

What intakes do well with dust? I visit a lot of sites through work that have dirt/dust. Could this just mean I would need to change filters sooner, or would this mean a certain style of intake could cause long-term damage to the vehicle?

I appreciate any/all feedback.
I went with Injen one of the best

Just curious if adding an intake will void my warranty if something goes wrong with the engine.

Take it off before dealer visits would be my suggestion. It’s a 20 minute swap once you’ve done it.
