I’ve seen many intakes out there like Injen, Stillen, K&N, Tork and SSR. Idk if there are any more out there.

Can someone please give me an idea on which one gives the most HP and performance difference. I’m new to this lol.

I'm happy with my K&N intake.

Was it easy to install? Did you notice a big HP increase apart from the intake sound?

I did it in my driveway with a beer and it started raining mid way through. It's pretty straight forward and didn't have any issues. I'm not that handy, and it took me about an hour

Lol thats the right way to work on any car, ice cold beer. Thanks for the feedback!

I have the Ssr intakes and I love them more than when I had the k&n on the car. U can feel the difference in power gains for sure.

i was considering the SSR more than any other but idk how i feel about the filters in the front, how does rain and snow affect it? (if you have an idea since you have it installed)
Also, i wanted to add the BIG MOUTH RAM AIR from velossa tech but with the SSR intakes i know i obviously cant do both ... right?

You will not need the intake scoops with the SSR

I got the K&N on mine. I want to say the horsepower gains aren't too incredibly noticeable from stock, and I can't really attest to different intakes being any better than one another since I've only got the one. I can say it was pretty easy to install if you follow the instructions provided and they sound great when you put some weight on the gas pedal.

Where I live it doesn’t snow, but it did rain heavily like a week after I installed the intakes. Once I came home and inspected the intakes to see if I saw any water inside and no sign of residue inside. You can’t run both but I would go with the ssr cuz if u get Velossa tech u would still need to buy intakes

Team Injen here. I hate working on cars and I make everything harder than it has to be since I overthink even the easiest task. That said, even I managed to install the Injen intakes without too much drama. It took me hours, because my garage was a sauna in the tx heat and I kept stopping, but most people could get them on in a fraction of the time.

They sound great and the engine pulled SO much harder afterwards, even on hot days and warm evenings.

Dear Jason:

Aside from the increased sound from an aftermarket intake, I can't believe for a single second that any automotive manufacturer would make stock intakes so restrictive that the car can barely get enough air to produce the advertised hp/tq. Seriously, there is more than enough air coming through the stock filters and ductwork.

Because I hate spending bucks on paper filters, I use the K&N drop-ins. Not for hp, but for longevity. In just 20,000 miles or so I am already ahead on maintenance dollars spent.

I added the PRESSERTech ECU tune with these drop-ins and I have more than enough air coming in. If you are really seeking more horsepower and performance, there are a number of different things you can buy for the same amount of money or less (ie.. new downpipes, JB4, etc.) that will really help you move faster and loosen the constraints. I am not saying you shouldn't spend your hard earned currency on an intake. That is certainly your choice. Just advising you to keep your expectations in line with reality. Increased growl to the ear is translated by the butt to be more power. Trouble is, the butt truly doesn't know what is happening.

Enjoy your Stinger!!

That makes no sense.

Maybe he wants his intakes to make more than advertised hp?

Using your logic you should have left your ECU stock since it was already making advertised hp.

Please search, as previously stated there are a lot of threads already on intakes.
